So last night when I was on Facebook I found it curious that it was telling me to friend request myself. I didn't think much of it until I looked at a friends page, and saw that they had become friends with "me." I clicked on the name and sure enough it was my profile picture with my full name. They even went so far as to "like" some of the pages I liked. The only real difference was that they listed the sex as male.

I reported it 3 times so far, the profile is still there. So everyone with a FB account, beware. Someone can easily save your picture and create a fraudulent account in your name.

Incredibly disturbing.

WOW, I am sure it is. I stopped using FB 4 years ago when a few of my pictures showed up on another site. Please be careful..everyone..FB has announced that they will be allowing more access to member information (Please do not ask me where I read it..my darn brain is failing me).Midnight♥

Ah what troubles.. been there done that.. (except mine was a bit worse) I would take down your real facebook... be safer that way :)

I'm seriously considering it. For the longest time I didn't put any pictures on there for the reason of some weirdo having pictures of myself and my children. I've reported them a bunch of times, but the profile is still up there. It weirds me out to look at a picture of my husband and I on some other person's page. Ahh. Not fun at all.

It seems to be happening more and more to people. :( I try to remember to change my password frequently as well as be wary of links and other possible portals for hackers. Sorry this happened to you. :(

It has gotten to the point that if anyone sends a friend request, I check my list to see if they are already on it or not.

It has happened more than once.

Wirelessly posted

That stinks when someone steals your fb

On the other hand, if you change your password and surf with a secure connection, you should be OK. Also While on Facebook, look at your URL address; if you see http: instead of https: then you don't have a secure session and you can be hacked. Go to Account|Account Settings|Account Security and click Change. Check at least the first setting, FB defaults to the non-secure setting. That should really help with hacking issues.
And ask ALL your friends to report that scammer. I was hacked twice, but browsing with a secure connection has really stopped a lot of the issues.

My cousin warned to tell me and my FB friends that NEW VIRUS ON FB using YOUR pictures, it says you've been tagged in a picture wants you to click on a link to see it. Then hacks into YOUR computer & ALL YOUR ACCOUNTS including BANKING & other secure accounts. It DESTROYS YOUR COMPUTER Once hacked into your comp it sends emails to your friends telling them they have been ...T...AGGED in pics & starts the process again PLEASE RE-POST URGENT...
It doesn't happen to me. *Knock on wood!* but I don't play any games on my FB page including "You have a new answer" game (to tell me that I have new answers to unlock. I can't answer it because they warned me not to because it can share with other people to read, etc. It's scary... ).

I know.... Now I dont often going @ facebook! Too many hackers and other problems!

This is one of the best line of defense.

You guys need to stop clicking on links from FB emails or status's that says hey check this out, even from your own freinds. Otherwise you will be fine. If you open a game or app in FB, be leery everytime sinc it reequests to see your personal info.

You guys also should be installing the bit defender safego app in FB to be alerted to any suspecting links . please install that. its the only app so far that will work in FB as an antivirus protection.
