Exactly. Some women can't nurse, or a special circumstance arises, and bottle feeding becomes necessary.

It happened to my sister with her daughter. Nursing is a wonderful thing, but it's a woman's choice. It also isn't easy or always doable.

Face it. Some times, women need to bottle feed their children, and they don't need pressure from anyone to feed from the breast.

Wrong. Breast milk is made out of the food the mother consumes. If the mother is starving and has no food to eat, she won't be producing any breast milk either. Infant malnutrition is a symptom of a larger problem: poverty. If we eliminate poverty, infant malnutrition would be a significantly mitigated problem.

Yes, breast milk is still healthier than formula (a detail I never denied). That does not change the fact that you do not have any authority over women and that if a woman chooses not to breast feed, it is her choice and you have to respect that. Similarly, if a woman chooses to breast feed, it is her choice and you have to respect that as well.

The uproar about the cover is nonsense, but so is the puritan hatred of sex that is prevalent in American society (particularly among conservatives).

I don't have a problem with Christians who legitimately love and support me, such as my relatives. I do have a problem with Christians who do not legitimately support or love me (like you and some of the others on this forum) who believe that "love" includes the virtue of forcing a person to live, behave and think a certain way, reject logic and not be able to see how their actions affect other people. Love would accept people as they are... Sadly, your "love" does not, and is therefore a sad and depraved mockery of what love is.

Regarding some comments that babies are malnourished, and therefore, breastfeeding is the best way to prevent malnutrition.

That's only the case if the mother is in good health. Many times, babies are malnourished because the Mother is unhealthy, and the baby isn't getting the nourishment from Mom that it needs. Therefore, sometimes it's better for both Mom and baby if baby is bottlefed.

Sometimes, circumstances arise and breastfeeding isn't the right thing for the baby. It goes back to it being an individual thing. What is right for one Mother may not be right for another.

I can see this is the beginning of the end of your marriage. It is sad ..... No wonder many young people are getting divorced at a rapid pace meanwhile Christian couples are married for 50, 60, 80 or 100 years and they are greatly blessed by God.

I don't understand why some people are so narrow minded as to reject this method of feeding. Breastfeeding is'nt only one way to nourish a child.

Of course, if the doctor says it would not be safe for my wife to breastfeed then that is fine. We will explore another options such as going to a professional breastfeeding clinic but I will not bottlefeed my children posion or any chemical based baby foods such as Gerber etc.

Then my wife and I would follow the doctor's instructions to not breastfeed if you had a life threatening illness due to breastfeeding conditions. It is common sense.

True. I wonder how some people think a preemie is fed. They are usually tube fed through the umblical cord stump first, and then, through a tube in their nose until they can nipple feed FROM A BOTTLE. Until that time, they are fed formula through the tube until such time their digestive systems can handle milk.

I was also bottle fed. My Mother was anorexic, and therefore, wasn't healthy enough to nurse.

The KJV is a bad translation of the text. Why don't you start learning to read the text in its original languages rather than relying on the KJV translators' interpretation? It's funny, but your assertion that a translation is the literal word of God says how nonsensical your beliefs are. Your beliefs are not backed up by the actual text, so you have to rely on a bad translation rather than the original.
