That's cool and of course, VW is nice car.

For me, I prefer Subaru and Jeep, but I already know that Jeep has pretty poor gas MPG.

nice car. i preferred to have SUV because of houston's weather is getting some flood on some streets. Some streets i cannot go through and will not pass it till it recedes. Most people (i mean a lot) people drive through the flood zone and got stucked in the water. what a insane people are!

That's remind me of Miami and they got flooding easily from heavy rain.

For the highway mpg in today's Jeeps...Wranglers gets 21mpg, Grand Cherokee gets 26mpg, Cherokee gets 30mpg (4 cylinder).

Id like to get a small suv but what I'm looking to spend ($1500 or less) theres not much out there with great mpg. Now that I have the down for a house and still a little to get a decent beater with I'm cutting my losses.
I will spend a little more for a good car but it has to have excellent mpg's to twist my arm a bit.

Good Luck! I predict that you will be looking for something different a few months after you get whatever you get now. You seem to have a need to always be rehabbing some vehicle.

No, I just make sure my vehicles don't leave me stranded with my son. The truck was just getting too hard on my back.

The bit about you back surprises me. Several of the gals in the bunch I run around with have gone to SUVs because they say they are easier on their back getting in and out than a car.

Agree due to the larger door opening and seat height, but have them lift it so the bottom of the suv is 3 feet off the ground and see what they say. My truck was a tad over 7 feet tall. My daughter is 5'6" tall13620931_264430607272792_1367379528149872252_n.jpg

It seems like I have been running across discussion of SUVs and pickups more lately and it got me thinking about what I liked about a pickup that I would occasionally borrow from work years ago. It was the additional visibility from sitting higher but that advantage seems to be gone now with how many SUVs are around.

I have a Honda CRV which I love because it's higher off the road, but not hard to get into.
