I have been having a lot of issues with my Menieres lately especially with the tinnitus and vertigo. I have decided to get a CI for my right ear since its the worst one.
I was really against it since I still have hearing in my right ear but the tinnitus and vertigo at times is so terrible I feel like banging my head into a wall to knock myself out.
Testing begins next week, Im anxious, nervous but I feel this is the best decision right now for me. My audi said it should help a lot with the tinnitus and maybe some of the other symptoms. If it does help a lot then I will discuss maybe getting another CI for the left ear.

I hope this works and gives me some relief.

All the Best of Luck.
I know of a person with Menieres are currently doing well with her CI and her menieres.

I hope it goes well for you :) I have fairly low blood pressure and get dizzy/can't see when I get up too fast, I can't even imagine what vertigo must be like- I really hope the CI will help to stop this.

Wishing you all the best CBE! I know what tinnitus is like, so I know exactly what you are going through. Please keep us all updated as to how your evaluation goes. :)

Thanks everyone. Its the reason I havent been around a lot. I go and do things with friends and family only to pay for it horribly the next few days after. Something has got to give. Even looking at the computer screen for any length of time makes it bad. Lets hope this does something and I will definitely keep everyone posted.

Wow! I am sorry you are going thru all this. Hope the CI will help. Hang in there!

CBE, I hope that all goes well. I'm sorry that these problems are affecting your quality of life. I hope that you're out celebrating success soon.

I wish you luck for next week and I hope the CI (if you qualify) will resolve the problems you've been having. I had severe recruitment before I got my CI and I can relate to the problems with tinnitus.

Good luck CBE on your journey to hearing again! I havent got any experiences with Meniere's but I have heard about it. Must be difficult with the vertigo!!

CBE,

Good Luck with the CI evaluation. I don't have memieres but I have tinnitus. When my hearing reached the severe to profound range my tinnitus became worse and took the form of "musical hallucinations " during the day and at night the tinnitus was a variety of noises that kept me up several nights a week. My CI has helped with the tinnitus. I hope things work out well for you, what every you decide!

Good luck and take care, hope to see you soon and read good posts about your success... hugs!

Best of luck, Candy! Hang in there, it's always darkest before dawn. You can make it.

Just wanted to say good luck Candy.

Wishing you the best! I'm actually interested in seeing the results of this myself, especially considering your right ear is the worst ear.

I have the opposite as my left ear is the worst ear and I'm always interested in staying up to date on how CI has improved.

good luck and hang in there!

I do remember hearing that one of the conditions that they were using CI offlabel for, was Menirere's. I remember hearing that it was very sucessful in a lot of cases.

DD,

That's what I've heard as well. In fact, I know several CI recipients who have Meniere's and are doing very well with their implants.

Thanks again everyone. I don't know what I would do without this site sometimes. I mention CI or Menieres to my friends and family and not one of them understand a thing about either. Its nice I can come here and most of you all know what each is. I am crossing my fingers this works. the menieres is terrible I wouldnt wish it upon my worst enemy. Im not worried about being eligible as I see my ent quite a bit for the menieres, also a tinnitus team at the university.
Ill keep you all updated. the last 2 days ive been up and down out of bed dealing with this crap...
