So cold in Florida...

we finally got heat after calling the propane company! :D it's set at 75 degrees.

Are you live in rural area?

You can use low acid and no pulp. I like apple cider over apple juice. :D

Oh really, thanks for suggestion and I prefer Floridian orange over Californian.

Orange juice should get a bit expensive in the coming months. Market futures for oranges do not look good.

I already knew it before you and anyone said.

Same with sugar price since Florida and Louisiana are big sugar fields.

it only sounds awfully cold 'cause we're used to 70+ degree weather!

Yea, this morning when I left for work, it was 16 degrees. We are getting used to it. LOL!

Here in Tampa it's ridiculous! I don't own heavy winter clothes, so the moment we hitf the freezing point :run: I went out and bought swaters and a coat. It was milder today, but I still hate the freezing mornings! :squint:

Better days are coming, better nights are coming. yay!!!

Sugar crops are not affected by the freezing cold. Oranges or citrus crops are easily affected in Florida.

Sugar crops can be affected by the cold since sugar cane does not grow well in cold weather. Belle Glade is already having issues with it as we speak.

Yes, sugar cane can be affected by it and rather it's the citrus fruits that face greater damage from the freezing since Florida's citrus crop is worth $9 billion dollar vs sugar cane at some $500 million. No crop is immune from freezing temperatures. There are tolerances here. Some fare better than others.

Right on, sugars need be grow in hot climate with alot of waters.

If we are running so low on sugars so we have import with high tariffs, US is just want protect the sugar companies from goes out of business due no tariffs or low tariffs.

It going be not affect soda companies due they use HFCS.

I feel bad for my exes parents. They bought a place in west palm beach 2 years ago and this is their first year to enjoy it as they left last week to be there for 4 months and they can't even properly enjoy the weather in their first year of retirement :(

It is getting better here and the temps are going up. Still a little chilly, but it's getting better. Since this cold isn't a usual thing, they will have many years of good retirement living here. My Aunt and Uncle came here for 4-6 months every year for the last 15. He died this year just after getting here, but she will continue the travel until she is no longer able to. They have a place in Delray Beach. Just south of West Palm Beach.

Don't worry, it'll warm up. Though it is still winter and this could happen again once more before winter's out.
