Edit - forgot to mention that Joe has no idea about guns, or he wouldn't imply that shotguns are less accurate than rifles in close quarters. At 15 yards, pellets can remain within a 2-feet circle or so, and that's with buckshot. He doesn't seem to realize that it depends on the choke of the barrel, the length, and the size of the shot. He was also probably trying to fool people into buying weapons that wouldn't surgically hit as hard as rifles from a distance. He's probably trying to protect the military having to do door-to-door by tricking us into guns not suited for distance shooting. Problem is, a 12-ga slug is going to hit a lot harder than a .223 or a 7.62X39 in close-quarters combat.
