What I love about being deaf, not having to hear myself snore at night. But its interfering with my girlfriend sleep and there are times she can't use ear buds because she has to work early the next day.

So this is what I know about my snoring issues:

1. Doesn't matter what position I lay, I'm ALWAYS snoring

2. My mouth is often closed and/or open

I even put my hearing aid in to test out my snoring and woke myself up :(

I'm just waiting for my insurance to kick in so I can see a doctor but until then its been frustrating.

Anyone has snoring stories? Or going through similar issues?

I snore if I went to bed very tired or exhausted....So have you tried those Breathe Right nasal strips?...They are really good!...

Still, if ur snoring is that loud, you do need to see the doctor.

Why don't you try to use bed shaker alarm to wake your girlfriend up while she is wearing ear buds?

I hate hearing from my ex girlfriend (hearing) about how loud I was snoring blah blah. I notice that if I get drunk, I will snore that night. But there are some nights that I didn't drink at all that I will still snore.
I hate knowing that I snored so loud while I was next to a girl if you know what I mean? lol.

I was just reading few articles about "How to stop snoring."

How to Stop Snoring: Cures and Remedies for Snoring

I think it is time for me to ask my doctor for some Nasal steroid sprays to see if it will help.

I have fell asleep and woke myself up b/c I heard my snorin  ... Im'a major snorer... I also drool... :dunno:

Maybe, sleep in another room with door shut? Im sure a lot of couples do that.

When I snore I sleep without the pillow for a few days on my back.
It helps a little bit.. I think it opens the airways more.

I know it isn't practical to wear earplugs to sleep.. that isn't comfortable.
But maybe if she is comfortable with earplugs, she can try a deaf alarm clock?
You need a lamp and a lamp timer.
Set the lamp timer to turn the lamp on at the time you want to wake up.
Wake up when it's too bright to sleep more.

Even hearing me used this during college to wake up,
because alarms were useless. (the alarm sound would become a part of my dream, and I would not wake up!)

Did it last night again :-( she wore ear plugs and could still hear me. Apparently I'm really loud :-(

I also wheeze and gasps when I snore. Just called my insurance still waiting for a final appointment to be arranged. So frustrating.

Sleep on your back and the problem is solved. Depending on how bad it is, I doubt someone will break up with you over it.

It sounds like sleep apnea, which often goes with severe snoring. Especially if you are tired during the day, you should ask for a sleep study. It can be a debilitating problem. There are several medical interventions. My mother used a c-pap machine to keep her breathing steady.

I talk in my sleep, and rarely wake myself up. :giggle: Seroquel helps me. I live alone, and one neighbor works at night. So-- no problem. :cool2:

It doesn't matter what position I lay in, it happens :-(

And no shes very understanding about it. So thankful for her shes just gently rubs my back or shoulder to wake me up and let me be aware of it rather than my face being stuffed with a pillow :giggle:

See your doctor. Snoring can often be a preceder of a medical condition. Or.. there is. A mouth piece. That you can wear that stops snoring. Still best to see a doc. Can be an ent issue

If you smoke...could be the culprit too...sinus infection?...buy some of those Breathe Right Nasal Strips...and you'll stop snoring and feel rested in the AM.

My friend bought a mouthpiece and has had great success with it?

So last night I tried the nasal strips again, and didn't help. I'm still breathing with my mouth at times. What to do when you don't have insurance?

No,no,no. You probably dont know the word snoring b/c you're very deaf...snoring means a person is making funny loud noise while sleeping. Snoozing means sleep..

Anybody ever woke up b/c of foul smell? and you realize you've been fartin all night?
