Smoking ban from Bars and Resturants in World and USA

And in my state of VIC. The only place patrons can smoke indoor is in a certain VIP room at the Casino.

JClarke, what about ACT?

They banned smoking in most places except in indian reservation casinos for WA state.

i think its bullcrap. but thats just me. Resteraunts im fine with banning but not bars, thats so retarded.

As long you will have to bear with the winter chills if you smoke outside! :laugh2:

well thats the thing. most bars werent designed/built before these ridiculous bans took place. Theyre fucked when it comes to doing buisness. Every one will lose customers. Ive never been to a bar where someone walked in and started a huge commotion on how smokers are killing others just by smoking inside. Never. I know im gonna get backlash for this, people are gonna yap and bitch and whine about being considerate to other peoples health yadda yadda yadda...spare me. You drink a beer you want a smoke. Its been done for 200 years--until now. It just ruins the mood when you constantly have to go outside.

You would think a solution would be for certain pubs/bars could be designated "smoking" bars and others smoke-free around city limits (wherever you may be) but thats never taken place.... why? Because every smoke-free bar would bitch and complain about it. Being smoke free only attracts so many people. Of course i respect city ordinances and everything but im sorry as a smoker it gets a big fuck you out of me.

Your points are valid and I apologise if I have offended you. I understand that it has affected the other smokers, like yourself. Hope this wasn't a minor misunderstanding and I take it, the comment before yours, wasn't a good joke to you :(

not at all jake, not at all....

i was just pointing out some of the negatives to banning smoking.

no apology necessary man.

Thanks for the clear up, mate. (is there a nickname that I could call you instead of calling you a dead man?)

It would affect the other smokers, and I am sure the other people who smoke will agree with yours, but for myself, you are right and it is the old century tradition, Im sure.

Exactly, You're same as my husband's opinion. He said it's was our city's governor's idea to smoking ban from bars, restaurants, bowling alley and public places. Because it's health and hurt to non smoker. I am nonsmoker. I can smell very well. Smoker is annoying me a lot.

My husband's opinions bars shouldn't smoking bars. Me and my husband are different opinions. Residents need to be decide not governor. My sister in the law. She is smoker and work at bars at night. It hurt her business. Toobad for her! Cigarette is unhealthy. Smoke-Free is good for environment.

Everywhere with bars have patio and screen for smoking outside. I will not judge or offend if you're smoker.

LOL typical feminist anti-smokers response. not everywhere theres a "patio" unless you have to just leave and come back in, which is mad lame. And if you want your sister to do well financially you wouldnt give a flying fuck about cigerettes. If it concerns you so much, just dont go. Stop caring about whats healthy or not for others. Im sure SHE doesnt care. Here in texas, theres 2 towns like that not even 5 minutes from each other. One banned smoking, the other didnt. Guess who went out of buisness? The smoke free town shut down 2 places eventually and filed a lawsuit basically citing it was unfair. Why? because every one drove the extra 5 miles to barhop in places they still allowed smoking. Now why does that happen? BECAUSE ITS WHAT PEOPLE WANT OBVIOUSLY. Its digusting that people who vote on these measures dont even go to these places most likely anyway and make "rational" decisions based on health evidence.

they did ban smoking in all of the restaurants here in Ark.. but at the bar where my sister work. smoking is allowed there.. only over the age of 21 are allowed to be in there.. NO kids! so smoking are allowed there.. it had long changed to private club now.

one bar on west side do allow kids.. so no smoking in there.. its more like a family restaurant. guess they didnt want to lose business as they are always busy on weekends.

The bar I went to most recently had a no smoking sign inside and I had a good time there. :) I remember seeing a table for smokers in a Burger King long ago and it was right next to the order area and soda fountains, making me smell it when I was waiting in line. :barf:

I am glad, there is no smoking in restaurants in my town. I can't stand to smell awful smoke from ppl. If people smoke around me then I will be having trouble with my breath.

I am on Dead Money's side, I think the smoking bans are only come from those who are spoiled complaining about other's private business that allow smoking while they can go other place that are smoke-free.

Smoking ban cost California billions of dollars, many of bars shut down. I am smoker and I am not interest to go to the bars in my state because I am not drinking in the bar and walking to outside all the times.

So the bars lost me as their customer, if other people are like me, how can the bars keep their business up?

Those business is not an public, they are private enterpise.

Well here in Ontario Canada as of Aug 1 2008 its illeagal to smoke in your care with anyone under the age of 16 years old and its a heavy fine per child. There is also a town here Woodstock you can't even smoke in the streets I thought public places was ok but this town has taken it too far if you ask me. Yes I am a smoker to and I do understand not smoking in public places and yes even the car but on trips there will be alot of stops let me tell you :giggle: . Whats next though are they going to tell us we cant smoke in our own homes to :hmm:, even the stores can't display smokes here they have to be hidden gees. Oh well take care all have a great holiday weekend Don

Should it be ok to smoke in the public even if it's banned in some places like Woodstock that Dizzy talked about? Ok, I shall go outside onto the street and burn my trash and release the smoke, dioxins and carbon dioxide into the air and say I can because it's a public place. :P
