So I just had one yesterday morning from napping, forgetting I had my HA in and when I heard sounds I thought I was awake so I tried to turn my head realizing I couldn't and felt frozen couldn't even scream. once I was able to actually move I forced myself to stay awake but it was extremely scary for me.

anyone have this? how do you get past it?

I used to have similar things happen years ago. Dreaming I was awake and sometimes I couldn't move. Don't think I did anything to prevent it other than not needing to take naps perhaps.

It happens to me when I get too much sleep. I hate them!

The only time it's happened to me was when I was having a nightmare...scared stiff...

It's really scary, I had trouble sleeping last night because of it. Eventually I did go to sleep but it's hard not to panic when you realize you can't move or scream.

it horrible i had it many times, when i was nurse many years ago before deafness,i did night duty and about three or four a.m use get something called nightnurse paralysis,it called different things could not move but as soon as someone called it vanished..
i get it alot and sometimes i force myself stay awake but of course that makes it worse..dont worry about it,although that easy to say

When i was a kid i would sleep walk. I would be totaly aware but coulnt really reason. I would get lost tring to find the bathroom and one time i ate cold geled gravy from the fridge. I was disgusted yet compelled at the same time. Not the same as you but similar in that i didnt have control of my body.

If all you can do is think, call out to Jesus in your thoughts. The sleep paralysis will end. BTDT

wow, i'm not the only one who sleep walks. In this forum, at least. I've had bizarre experiences, dunno if I want to share them lol.

And um, I've had not one for the last three months or so. I think..? Who can guess if I wasn't aware!
