Which skiing or snowboarding do you like the most? :wiggle:

That's only because you got buttplugged by snowboarding. :)

As for me, skiing seems to be my thing. I still haven't tried snowboarding, but I have a strong feeling that I wouldn't do very well with it.

I have not tried snowboarding but I d like to!
 
I skied up until I was about 13, then I switched to snowboarding and have been doing it ever since. We used to make it to Tahoe a couple times a year, but now all my gear is gathering dust in the closet. There aren't any mountains in Indiana. :(

Personally, I think snowboarding is easier, but you fall down a lot more in the learning stages.

Thanks TWA. Kids use the cheap the snowboards and they seem to love it so much. I want to send them to take a lesson but not this year.. so kids still use them for now in our home local hills. I can tell that they love it!

Yeah, definitely stick with the cheap stuff because they will outgrow the equipment every other year or even every year. It's better to just rent, unless you're going to be doing it a lot each season.

Do your kids skateboard, too? That's why I got into snowboarding, because I skated first. It made learning to snowboard a lot easier, but man, the first couple times, my butt was so sore from falling on it repeatedly!

They tried and said skateboard are difficult ones. I guess they fell in love with snowboard thsi year. Thats why I am thinking about sending them to take lessons or something like that. :) They are born in upstate ny therefore they should love snowboard or ski. Not me for sure. I was born in Long island then I am a beach girl. lol
 
FF I ski only now, but I think its because thats what I was taught on early on and felt more comfortable. My cousins got me on a snowboard a few times one winter and I just felt frustrated because they still wanted to do more adanced runs which I wasn't prepared for on a snowboard, but would have felt better if I had my skiis on. So, subsequently I just didn't ever board after that year. I don't know if you guys want to try a weekend at Killington, but yeah that crap gets so expensive for a whole family to do. With nice skiis out there they cost so much, I prefer to take my extra hour the night before and rent the skis. I'd rather pay 30$ to rent the skis if I go just 2 or 3 times a year now. Even that 30$ is better than pay 900+$ for a ski/binding/boots package every few years. Plus the ski rental store in Salt Lake here updates the gear pretty frequently and have not been disappointed with the performance of them yet. Add in 80+$ a day for lift pass, and very expensive food at the lodge, I would cringe at just the cost for 1 family day at the ski resorts.

Don't fret though- many resorts including some in New England offer some very nice bargains for youths for lessons/lift passes. Park City is only one here I know of that have a good ASL instructor, but I am not very knowledgeable regarding that. Thats neat the kids are liking snowboarding and if you can, that would be great to help them enrich their passions as they discover new things. Good Luck with that

Downhill ski! I miss it! I dunno if I can ski again cuz of my knee.

yeah. here it costs a little over 40 bucks. but we have excellent instructors around. I will make sure that kids will get the lessons as soon as i can.
