What do you do on Father's day today? What are best memories between you/your family and your father that have happened? Why do you love your father so much? Feel free to share here... I have no idea about poem since I suck @ poetry..... Anyone got Father's day poem???

Other thing.... If you have someone else than your father in life as a father that have been there for you like father figure to you - your comments are welcome.

My father lives in other state as I wish I could be with him to celebrate the Father's Day such as cooking out or going to fishing with him right now. I just sent him email also I called him over phone to cheer with him.. I love him so much because he is so great to be father to me when he raised me. I am graceful that I have him in my life.

As for other fathers to cheer on "Happy Father's Day"..

For Father's day gifts... I came up with cute idea.Footprint plaque! You can also use hand. We already did that few years ago on daddy's T-shirt. I put on search on web site to get a peom and found two peoms that I really liked. First I typed/copied it up and print it. Then I painted my son's foot and pressed on paper. After it gets dry and put it in the frame (11 by 14 since 8 by 10 won't fit the darn paper! I used mat and it seemed work okay but I'll put something on background for 11 by 14 so I'll need find a paper to go in) We made it two of them since one for daddy and one for Grandpa. I will have to make another one for my dad since I couldn't find or want to give them for Father's day. So I did it at last mintues! OPPS! So I'll make 3rd one and mail to my dad one later. My dad lives in West. So I'll give him a buzz thru VP :) I am out of frames so I will need to go to store to get some more.

Here are two poem

Foot print poem: (for daddy)

“Walk a little slower, Daddy,” said child so small.
“I’m following in your footsteps and I don’t want to fall.
Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they’re hard to see;
So walk a little slower, Daddy,
For you are leading me.
Someday when I’m grown up,
You are what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
who’ll want to follow me.
And I would want to lead just right,
And I know I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy,
For I must follow you.”

And Grandpa's Peom:

Dear Grandpa

"I miss you when we're not together
I'm growing up so fast
See how big I've gotten
Since you saw me last?
As I grow, I'll change a lot,
The years will fly right by.
You'll wonder how I grew so quick
When and where and why?
So look upon this foot print plaque
That's hanging on your wall
And memories will come back me,
When I was very small."

I thought those two poems are great!

Oh one more thing I forgot...

MY BF's parent came yesterday and we had breakfast at Bob Evan's. It was good! My BF ate his 'dinner' cuz he work 3rd shift. I don't care because as long as we have something to eat. :) So we had really nice time! My son now really miss his grandparent.

Megladon (my bf) and I went to breakfast with his parents and his sister, at perkins. Then I worked 11:30-8:30. I sent my mom an IM and told her to tell my dad I said happy father's day and sorry i cant hang out cause I have to work.

We had a great day. My father and I went over at my sister's and eat our dinner together. He doesn't have to cook today. My brother, his wife, and my nephew came over to see us. My nephew, Evan will be 1 year old in August but he doesn't gotten his first tooth yet and not starting to walking, either. I'm glad that I see him, but I haven't seen him since late April. Oh, guess what? When he started to crawling around and I was laying down on the floor next to him then he grabbed my left boob! Oh God, it hurts!! :eek2: My father got presents: shirts, cologne, Johnny Carson vol. 1 - 3 dvd, and LOTR's large plastic sword. :laugh2:

mine in Alaska til today... Did gave him present on June 8th before he left. Weird that we sat together in hallway and we saw Governor of MN.. weird eh??

June 19 we were at my brother's house for Father's Day. All the kids were outside playing in the swing. My daughter loved the slide! She had this belly laughs for quite awhile. She oh gosh darn cute! There were a lot of food and desserts. Yummie! We exchanged cards for Father's Day, my birthday and my sister-in-law's birthday. Shit, I didn't get her anything! Besides her birthday is on the 27th so I'll do a quick shopping tomorrow then stop by at the house before the whole family take a trip to Orlando, Florida for the week!

The one thing that striked me funny... this is before we were going up to my brother's house... when my hubby called my brother, but he wasn't home so he left a message asking what to bring for food. He never called so we left to go shopping anyway. We came back from shopping and my brother has left a message for us saying, the food has been taken care of and if she (me) is still interested she (me) can buy the cake for herself. :wtf: It isn't just me, but it was also my sister-in-law's birthday. So, I didn't bother with the cake. Just not in the mood. Besides I think it is my dad's last Father's Day so celebrating Father's Day was much more important than our birthdays.

Happy Belated Father's Day! :wave:

I guess I had a good fathers day yesterday. My roomie figured she wud surprise me by doing the yard work that I usually do myself every weekend this Father's Day weekend. Plus I had dinner at my mother's house with my own dear kid after all I hadnt seen her so much oftens since I moved back to Knoxville last month. (She even got me a home made fathers day card heh)

My daughter and I took Knight (my fiance) to the river where they have a beach. We just watched my daughter swim while we laid out and chat. Then Knight decided to go help my daughter build a sandcastle and I took some great pictures. We came home, knight decided to build a shed for his 4 wheeler while he was doing that, I came on the computer did some search on finding a greeting card with a picture of him and my daughter. I found an awesome greeting and printed it out with a real glossy paper. We gave it to him and he LOVES it! it has a picture of him and my daughter building a castle, and has a girl spreading her arms out and says "I love you this much!" Then I added "Happy father's Day 2005" at the bottom "Jaci" I would show it to you guys but I don't know how to add pictures in here. We just had a really quiet and relaxing day. That was just what he needed. He worked 6 days a week perhaps around 50 to 55 hours a week..

Happy Father's day to all of you in here and out in the world !
