sign for "democrat" and "where"

Correct! "Where" is signed using the "1" handshape, and "Democrat" is signed using the "D" handshape.

"Democrat" is usually signed towards the left of the body, and "Republican" "R" is signed to the right. "Where" is towards the front of the body, or directional if it fits the context.

Good one! here in MN interpreters and deaf like myself who are active in politics usually spell DFL instead of sign democrat since Democratic Farmer Labor Party is simliar to democratic party. Hearing usually say DFL instead of democrats here as well..

I saw a different sign for Democrat. It was the sign for goverment with a d instead of g. There's a corresponding sign with a r for Republican. I also saw the government sign with an a to mean Albany.

That brings the interesting question these days.

Where are the Democrats when we need a voice in congress? They seem to have abandoned the disability communities recently.

So therefore "Democrat" sign is synonymous with "where" sign.
