Sidekick 3 !!

I agree - just wait and see with how SK3 will turn out next year then. I don't usually buy new things when they come out immediately. I rather wait and see how it works out in the long run, first.

However, it would be nice if SK3 would offer a larger font size (like Blackberry has it), for which it'd be easier to read, instead of "straining" your eyes when using it! :fingersx:
Why you want do that? Easy to break screen LCD cuz too big and eat battery life than sk2.

:werd: I'm not like those people who buy a new device every time they release a new one. I usually stick with what I have until it becomes obsolete and a newer version is on sale. For instance, game consoles... I don't buy them when they're released. I wait a while until I see the games that they have released for it. I have a lot of patience and can wait until later.

For Gamecube, I waited and got the Platium Edition later.

For Xbox, I waited and got the Halo Edition later.

For Gameboy Advance SP, I waited and got the Classic NES Edition later.

For Sidekick II, I waited and got it for free.

I'll probably keep my Sidekick II for another year or so... until the Sidekick III is released and offered for free. :thumb:

Cool. I got free halo Edition, Xbox RFD for $100, gameboy SP for $60, Fuck SK2 due break so easy and error with system most time.

Your SK2 breaks easily? I got my SK2 last year and it is still in perfect condition. I use it a lot, and it doesn't wear out.

I have friends whose SK2 broke. They dropped it all the time. They put it in their pockets all the time so that it easily breaks when they bump into things. They use the keypad with dirty and greasy fingers (eating pizza or fries), which causes the keypad to weaken and curl up. They use it while walking outside in the rain. They leave the pager on hard surfaces while in vibrate mode causing constant vibration to damage itself internally. The list goes on and on with how they abuse their pagers.

I never own Sk1 and sk2 before. Most cell phone more strong than sk2 and you can drop whatever u want, perfect fit in your pockets. Nothing to worry about break.

Yeah, and some leave them in hot cars! Duh! My wife's is over 2 years old, I think, and not a thing wrong with it.

1. My dork friend complain to me that her sidekick's keyboard have been fall apartment and the display become dark. Don't know why. Maybe she typing too fast or get mad at it.

2. My redhair friend accident left her sidekick in car, without sun beam point to sidekick, the display have been fried. My Nokia 6820 beat Sidekick in roast car.

3. My friend who have Nokia 6820 while typing and other one of his friend use sidekick which make noise. His mother told that person who use sidekick to typing quiet! Not his fault, it's sidekick's fault.

4. My ex-girlfriend have sidekick and when she flip the display up and it become blink on backlight after have it for several months. Sad?

5. Average sidekick user, got their device broken 2 times.

Oh yeah. I remember Catie's mom complain about sk2 have noise when she type like *click..click..click* but nothing happen on most cell phone.

It's probably cuz she doesn't keep her Sidekick clean. I type mine very fast and it is still in good condition. Why get mad at a Sidekick. It's only a thing. It's like saying, "My dog ate my homework." ;)

My friend had a Nokia 6820 that got fried in her car.

Noise? That's cuz the sound was on. Sidekick is like every other mobile device... they have sound control. There is an option on Sidekick that switches keyclicking sounds on and off.

She probably abused it. ;)

That's because they don't take care of it. The same thing applies to everything else. The average is not always based on the durability of the equipment, but also how well a person cares for it. I've seen friends go through 5 Gameboy Advance SPs because they don't care for them. They open them too fast. They push the buttons too hard. The get pissed off and throw them. They put them in the wrong places where they can get damaged easily (back pocket of pants, bottom of backpacks, on floor for dog to chew, etc). What are they going to do? Blame their pants, blame their backpack, or blame their dog? Oh wait, that's like saying... "My dog ate my homework!" Heh! I friends whose Nokia 6800s wouldn't stay closed because they opened and closed it too many times in a rough manner. ;)

Simply turn off keyclicking. Cellphones have that option too.

Hmm where can i find setting to turn it off?
  1. Press Jump
    key-jump.gif
    to start at Jump
  2. Press Menu
    key-menu.gif
    to access menu
  3. Select "Settings"
  4. Select "Sound Profiles"
  5. Select any sound profile that you want to edit (Loud, Normal, Soft, Buzz, etc)
  6. Click "Edit"
  7. On the bottom, you will see "Key Clicks", which can be checked or unchecked
If you don't want keyclicks for ALL profiles, you'll have to turn it off for each sound profile.

Interest... any idea why it have such an annoying noise of keypad optional in first place?

Probably so the person knows that the keys are being pressed.

On SILENT and BUZZ, the key click sounds are off.
