I prefer laptops over desktop nowadays.

I am not using graphic programs or editing videos anymore these days.

It's the result of offshoring. Take the IBM Lenovo line. That is IBM's outsourced line of computers that are actually made in China (I believe). Cheap labor = cheap quality.
