Shopping HDTV

i look at bestbuy and walmart stores says its would under $500 or more when i went both im rather not! if you need give me idea?

Under $500. Usually 32" HDTV start price from lower $400 and up.

try to search HDTV in forum at Slickdeals.net - The best coupons, lowest prices, and hottest deals.

Usually, Best Buy has good price on "opened box". They have nothing wrong with opened box. You can buy opened box and try it at home. If, you do not like it then return for full refund with in 14 or 30 days (you need to store's policy for refund).

Sometime, Sears or other electronic store has left over sales. They left in warehouse for a year. You keep eye open to find good price.

Best Buy has Insight 26" LCD with built in DVD player for under $450. I am not familiar with Insight. My personal, I rather to have 32" or larger.

Best Buy offers for extension warranty. I never like visit at Wal-Mart. (Boycott to Wal-Mart & Dell). No idea what Wal-Mart offer for extension warranty.

You need to understand about HDTV's tech. See my post at #18

They have good and bad things about LCD and Plasma.

LCD is not great for watch movie because not excellent black level. Some movies show night time like (Aliens, Cloverfield, Friday 13th, Men in Black, Batman, "Perfect Storm" at night, etc)

LCD is excellent energy saver (depend on model and brand) better than Plasma.

I like Plasma because excellent rich color.

Good luck for you TV hunting.

Simple you choice

Plasma tv - excellent black

LCD - long life

Many are into LCD than Plasma.

True.

I hope SED release really soon. It's better than LCD and plasma for picture and power efficacy.

Just bought a 52" Samsung 650 series LCD TV and a Samsung 1500 Blue Ray player two months ago. Unbelieveable, nothing touches it picture quality, maybe except the new Samsung LED TV's. Plasma can't touch this LCD TV period. I was a Sony fan, now I'm a Samsung fan. The best thing for anyone to do is do a side by side comparison at the stores, reset all the settings to factory default if you have to. Once you pick out what you want, find it on Amazon.com and buy with the white glove treatment. I will still be cheaper than buying at the store and they will deliver and install it for you.

My TV I found in a dumpster.

It works great except the sound is messed up, but since I'm deaf it doesn't bother me.

And no, I'm not kidding about the dumpster. I really did find a TV in one and rescued it.

Free TV. :D

After I saw a Samsung LED HDTV at best buy today while I bought a simple 19" LCD HDTV for my VP 200. That picture quality is very clear and crisp which I drool. The price is not that cheap.

What is your opinion on LED HDTV? SED HDTV seems far away from coming out to the public.

Better than nothing as long as it is still working.
