He wants his daughter back... But he wants her to live with the Grandma so he can just visit her when he pleases?? If he truly wanted her he would have fought for her from the begining of time.

Exactly. He is looking for a free ride. I say leave the kid with her legal father. He is the one that has been involved in her life from the very beginning. If it were me, I would tell him he is responsible for all the years of child support he didn't pay if he wants to be known as the biological father.

It will be tough for them (her siblings that lives with him now also) growing up now. Thanks to the media. They will be taunted by other children and grown ups too.

Yep. Grandma needs to be smacked in the back of the head for making this child open to the media like that. Shows me she isn't too concerned about the welfare of this kid.
 
This is a HOTT mess! I don't think anyone is fit enough for her, but unfortunately her parental choices aren't much to choose from. I feel bad. Her legal dad likes fourteen year old, her biological dad wants his fifteen minutes, and her grandmother allowed her to marry an old man, and NOW has a problem with the legal father. SMDH!

Thats my thought, too. But, since bio Dad has now come forward, he may have standing here since he is biologically related to the kid. It just depends on what evidence the judge wants to consider, I guess. My thinking is, though, that the child would be better off with either father; rather than the Grandmother!!!

Edit: I read up a bit in the thread, and now, I have a different opinion of "bio dad". Methinks NOW, that the child would be better off with legal Dad; the sex offender.

Good Lord! This case is screwed up!!!

All I can say is, this is going to be CAH-RAZY. If I was deciding this mess, I'd force bio Dad and legal Dad into mediation to work out some sort of joint custody arrangement. As for Grandma, depending on how screwed up and controlling she is, either, she'd get visitation rights or supervised visitation.

Someone already said it, but I believe it. This is definitely FUBAR.

When I was growing up in Florida, I often wondered why my State's criminals were crazier than any other State's.

Some truly awful stuff happened (Adam Walsh) - my parents would never leave me, my brother and sisters out of their sight. I grew up thinking they were control freaks until my dad explained to me about something that never really made the national news.

After he explained to me about something else that happened in Florida to a little boy, I completely understood with absolute clarity why my parents acted the way they did.

A little boy was baked alive in his neighbor's oven when he went over to get a puppy from them. They invited him to come over and take his pick - apparently - they didn't like his pick. :shock:

Some times ... things just cannot be explained.
 
Are you sure that wasn't a story designed to scare you? Something like that would have not only made national news, but international. Kind of reminds me of the Hansel and Gretel story.
 
In all serious, I think one reason has a lot do with the death penalty. Guess which two states uses their DP the most?

I actually remember being shown the newspaper article. It happened in Hollywood, Florida. I have been trying to find info on it ... but no luck.
 
I grew up in Florida and never heard of a kid being baked in an oven.
