Do you think Prostitution is a sex crime? I was taking a criminal justice class - Sex Offenses and Offenders, and we were discussing that prostitution is a sex crime. I dont know if I agree with that. But yes there are some girls forced to have sex but if it is consentual and both sides get what they want, oh well. It has been around for ages, all over the world.

You could compare it to a one night stand or a guy taking a girl out to dinner, buying her things, and taking her out (spending money on her) and the girl has sex with him cuz of that. Similar to gold digger.

If the hoes can benefit from having sex for money, well more power to them but as long as it is consentual and it is in a certain isolated area (where children cant see) and not on every street. Call girls and escorts are also popular forms of prostitution.
I also think that porno is technically prostitution without any contact. you are showing your body for money. then that would include strippers... the list goes on and on. What do you think??

I do not think that it should be a crime.
If the hooker and the customer both are willing, and money or pressies are agreed upon, then I don't see why it cant be legal.

We should do what they do in Amsterdam. We should legalise it, but on some conditions. Hookers should register with the local government, and get a licence. Brothels should also have licences. They should be required to have tests and make sure the facilities are clean. Using condoms should be required, no matter what. But I do not think that they should be allowed to walk on the streets to get businesses.

Religion view upon this prostitution as a crime. USA's laws are mostly based on christian beliefs.

I do remmy I read somewhere on the article. Not sure if that true or not. near or inside of Las Vegas for allow prostitution to have license for perform. Sound so crazy. Hope that article is b.s.

Well, Lasza

Prostitution was the first legal in state of Nevada since the turn of the 20th century, but cops still arrest women for soliciting prostitution anyway.

Only a few whore houses in Reno and Pahrump were permitted to operate until few years ago, which they are no longer operating for various reasons, ex. AIDS outbreak, tax evasion, etc.

Actually, prostitutes are still visible everywhere we are currently living in the states.

There are brothels (legal ones) around Sydney and Melbourne....prostitutes are abundant around the St Kilda suburb of Melbourne and Kings Cross in Sydney.

i personally dont really view prosititution in itself as a "sex crime" cuz the men are the willing participants but it IS in the law books as it also does cause problems -- violence, actual rape of the prosititutes, robberies and such that can happen -- i think its also cuz of the $$ that is generated in prosititution and the government knows that the hookers would not be paying their taxes from what they earned in prosititution -- along with a health risk being high when men associate with the prosititutes for their "services" ie: HIV/AIDS, other STDs and such --someone also mentioned the moral to it along with it being ammended into the law books based on the religious beliefs

Something to consider --

Isn't pornography prostitution? They're being paid to perform sexual activities, and isn't that the definition of prostitution?

I don't know if that's a sex crime or not. I guess my eyes are still so naive. :dunno:

IMO it is sex crime, why? easy money.. I know it sounds stupid.. but government don't want to see people get "easy-job-easy-money". also it's very easy for them to cheat on their tax fillings, since the government won't know how much you made. same idea as selling drugs, cuz it's easy money.

you can be a billionare if you sell ur body.

I believe Las Vegas did that. I thought it such safer than hookers walking in the streets of Bronx.

hookers are criminals IMO reason they can * kill* someone with thier infected body, too many are dying of AIDS and too many of STDs can affect thier wives partners or Girlfriends/boyfriends, so that in itself is a crime, while I can understand the need to get quick money, the USA is so concerned abt lack of employment why don't the government just stop whining abt the expenses and cut down ont he taxes and start foucusing on real meaning of life, they the hookers can be mothers fathers brothers and sisters, who needs money to pay and feed themselves and have a roof over thier head, to me, they need a better life all in all! no need to have to have taxes hanging over our heads! Sheesh

No it shouldn't be a crime. :smash:

It is Adult's responsiblity...
They are 2 adults and if they wanna do this, then
that is fine.

If Playboy and porno can do this... then prostitute can too.
