I had the same thing happen to me a year ago but the Scammer said I won the Deaf Lotto and won the $50,000.00 jackpot asled a bunch of questions then wanted my banking info to deposit the check but before that they wanted $1,600.00 handling fees. I receive there banking info in an email and turned it over to the local police department but all this was so steange because it happend shortly after I went totally deaf and received information kits from the 3 major CI makers. How do these people know that we are deaf they knew my nick and my hotmail these scammers are scary people you where smart to cut them off when you did.
Take care everyone Don

Yeah, stupid...
If you did win something, all the dues would be dealt with afterwards... not beforehand.
Win the lottery? Of course, you're gonna have to pay something for what you've won... but you don't have to pay until the next time you file your taxes.
Why not give the scammer the police dept address. LOL
