San Francisco Bay area and within Northern Calif. information request

SF is nice. Don't forget to visit sea lion on pier 39. :cool2:

Yeah, I had seen a ton of sea lions near Florence, Oregon where the world's largest sea lions cave is taken place.

Sort of deja vu?

An earthquake hits Bay area/Berkeley earlier this afternoon... just seconds ago I am researching and looking at the Amtrak Berkeley's street address online that is when I just saw the news at the same time. o_O:shock: It is almost 22 years to the day of 1989's deadly earthquake in SF.

I read the horoscope today in a local newspaper earlier this afternoon that my zodiac sign (Aries) says my vacation plan stalls. What does that supposed to mean?! I don't think I would want to backfire my plans of flying to California especially San Francisco.

The Palace of Fine Arts and the Exploratorium are fun and interesting...

Update: I will be flying in S.F. on October 31st and Marina Inn will be where I am staying at for 5 nights.

I guess I could not have time and budget to drive all the way to Redwoods National Park which is 6 hours and half drive from S.F. I think I pick Yosemite which is the closest to Bay Area than Sequioas National Park and various National Parks in Cali. =(. I am not sure whether that Sequioas National Park/Forest is closed on the beginning of November, since the website says November to March is Winter season, anyway.

Haha, it is either rain or sun or both. Year round weather is right :)

Won't snow unless you go up to higher elevation like big bear or shasta.. rest assured there is like 0.00000001% chance of snow

Is it your first time in cali?

Oh, I didn't notice this post. No, it will be my second time visiting Cali but yes for the first time visiting NorCal. I stayed in L.A. and near Riverside for a week back in 2006.

Aw!! What a bummer...an update on the weather condition at Yosemite....some major and popular trails are closed due to snowstorm!!! I saw the update pictures of Yosemite on Facebook that snow is already everywhere over there since almost 2 weeks. Well, I am not much experienced of hiking during "Winter season" I did not expect this. Oh well! As of November 5th, I have to see what is the better alternate attraction to go rather than ending up in Yosemite at the wrong time. Since I prefer to travel lightly and prepared easily. The best condition for hiking and safe hiking at Yosemite would be between June to early October for less experienced hiker.
