Saddam's cash?

Since Saddam was captured, one thing bothers me is that Saddam has cash hidden in the tunnel with him and I don't know if they were specifically US money or Iraq's but the picture of a solider carrying box of money contains US money since I can see Ben Franklin's picture on the bills.
Can anyone tell me specific if it was US or Iraq money?

snakes, crickets, etc... in Saddam's sheets. The toliet is very dirty and food would be rotten with mold (green bread) for his three meals. He deserved it!
