Gawd help us and save us all from this.

X2

It's like a national sickness that has afflicted half the population (if polling numbers are any indicator)

Lowe's withdrew their sponsorship of "All American Muslim" as a reaction to some obscure little org in florida called Florida Family Organization who protested against the positive portrayal of American Muslims, and insisted it was propaganda and an attempt to subvert traditional american values.

And now the backlash against Lowe's is nation-wide and growing rapidly. And if Michelle is trying to appeal to a religious Christian base by hyping anti-Muslim fears, she's in for a rude shock because countless Christian orgs are joining the protest against Lowe's bigotry.

Real Christians don't promote hatred.

1) Lowe's disputes that it was only one group.

2) Lowe's is doing fine. Stock price is stable and the stores have been full when I have been in them.

Lowe's disputes that it was only one group what? mind finishing the sentence so I know what you're talking about?

How do you know Lowe's withdrew because of money?

Well, they are not withdrawing out of the goodness of their heart, right? At the time of the protest, they made a judgement call on how they saw social temperament. It was probably more cautionary than racist. I doubt anyone at Lowe's intentionally wanted to cause controversy.

Edit: To be more precise: They tired to side with whatever view would put them in a better light with the majority of the public. If they thought the protest could hurt their image, I can see why they made the decision(bad as it is).

Hmmmm....Lowe's did say they withdrew after Florida Family Org called All American Muslim propaganda and an attempt to subvert American values...whatever. They'd rather appease some small org in florida than the much larger Muslim demographic in the US. That says a LOT.

Yes, really. Otherwise I wouldn't have asked. I genuinely don't know what you're talking about... Lowe's disputes that it was only one group.... what?

Ah, well we are off to a bad start then....just ignore the comment.

Not Lowe's opinion. I can easily post here a dozen links all quoting Lowe's as saying they withdrew their ads as a reaction to Florida Family Org's complaints.

But hey, if you'd rather ignore their official statements and quote some schmuck on the street...and endorse companies' rights to withdraw ads for bigoted reasons, then that says a lot about you.

You're assuming it's for "bigoted reasons" as so with the rest of the protesters. I provided a link saying the reason for the ad removal was not for a bigoted reason but a business decision. It all comes down to money.

The manager of the Lowe's store, Doug Casey, said the company wasn't influenced by any outside group or ideology. He said those who criticized Lowe's have a right to their opinion, but that "it's not the opinion of most of the customers I spoke to in the store today."

Or so it seems.

A link quoting some guy on the street who said he THINKS it's because of money. Again, if you prefer to ignore Lowe's official statements on their own ad withdrawal and instead insist it's for another reason based on some guy on the street offering a personal opinion...

where did this quote come from?

Never mind, found it. So, they said they withdrew because of people's responses to the show and now they're saying they didn't withdraw because of any outside group or ideology.

Hmmm...too late for backpedaling.

Cautionary does not preclude racist.

You provided a quote from someone who admitted to being less than well informed of the issue. That is neither reliable nor valid for supporting your stance.
