This man had carefully maintained it while driving it all these years, AND gave it a full frame-off restoration and engine rebuild in 1988. Not that I would have a Rolls-Royce and paint a thief target on my back, but I can just imagine spending that much time with my Jeep for the next 40-50 years.

A good set of wheels is a beautiful thing. I have had many vehicular love affairs, some brief some long. I am way scattered out so the real truth sometimes escapes me. A friend pinned me down the other day about how many cars do I own. If quantity meant something whoa how did this happen especially since I got rid of four last year. Seventeen cars and trucks - I am not proud, this is a disaster. Only four of those are roadworthy. If they were all in one place I would have a junk yard. And maybe I should. More food for the New Years resolution. Kind of offtopic and borrinnng but hey. A good set of wheels is one of lifes great pleasures.

I remember that one of my Grandpa's neighbors had 2 Rolls Royce. I got to sit in them. I was lucky that I got to do that.

Lots of us Deaf have driven them here. There's a Deaf-friendly valet company in Houston (anybody there need work? PM me and I will get you their number). I worked for them for 12 years, 8 in management. I have been lucky enough to have driven virtually every kind of exotic car.

Wow, I'm happy he looked after the car for that long, although he certainly didn't do many miles in it. Must have really treasured it.

There's a truck driver I know here who's got a Kenworth truck that dates from 1974. It's had about 8 new engines and gearboxes in its life, but it in showroom condition and still works for a living hauling trailers from Perth to Broome and I reckon he'll give out before that rig does!

Wow, you're inspiring me!! Maybe I should see if I can get a valet parking job in Chicago area.
