RIT/NTID room

I don't believe so if you see the bigger picture about it. I feel that schools should care about their students no matter how old you are.

You do realize that was meant as a joke, right?

They'll be FREE with no cost from I heard. But wait and see because just you "heard" something, it doesn't mean it's true. Remember how people claimed that Barnes and Nobles will have their new store up by September? That turned out to be false. Over the summer, I contacted my advisor and said, "Nope, they're still at the Student Alumni Union!" (SAU for short.)

Besides, Vamp, I thought you'd be in Texas by now? Hmm... something doesn't quite add up about your claims of moving to Texas in July. ;)
I've never heard of Barnes and Noble setting up their own store. Campus Connections is now Barnes and Noble.

As for the new laundry machines, I was told by a couple staff members in the dorms. They said that this is a possibility. Maybe, it's true. Maybe, it's not. Who knows.

What doesn't add up about my claims of moving to Texas?

They are going to at College Town. You can thank the RIT magazine for that tidbit that you obviously missed. I knew about the new website. My advisor sent me a link to that site. Another foresight you missed, my friend. ;)

I'll reiterate: Just because you "heard" it from a bunch of people doesn't mean it's all true. Since I'm coming back to school next week, I will personally find out with my eyes to see if your claims regarding the laundry machines are true or not.

The fact that your location still reads: "New York" and it's now August thus nullifying all your claims as false.

Do you go home every break you get? I saw that spring break and summer are really short breaks. Darn.

Yeah, I do. When school isn't in session, I live only a hour and half away from Rochester.

But sometimes I will use the time to visit my wonderful fiancee.

I was a student at NTID dormitory. I moved two times. One nut-head party, and another one a weirdo religious person was praying every single morning.

I heard the issue about a girlfriend and a boyfriend sleeping on the bed. In fact, it is very rude. The best way for you is to be patient and apply for another room. I don't remember how long it takes for you to move out after you apply for a new room. It is best to have a room with two beds - not three beds because of less interrupt during your homework hours. A single room is not a good idea because you will be very alone. Some RA dormitory employees did not a good job. (i.e. Residence Assistant)

If you had some credits from your other college, you can apply to rent an apartment. Check the policy about renting an apartment because maybe some rules are changed. I am not saying that it is very hard to find a place to rent. You just have to do it and to see what happens. I would think that some people trick you that it is hard to find one. Don't trust them included your new friends & campus employees. Just have fun with them.

Now that reminded me of my SVP roommate. One morning I found a man in her bed. Yes, it is very rude because I don't like a strange man seeing me in my nightgown. Later on, I found out that that man is RA. Lousy job as RA!!

Too bad there aren't any girls here talking about their experiences. That'd be more helpful. Anyway, I remember the laundry room in the tunnel area, does that mean that not all dorms are connected to that dorm and you have to carry your bag of clothes to the laundry room or what?

The tunnel connects to all dorms and there are several laundry rooms. There is a corner store and a cellar (bar, of sort). I like the tunnel so I can visit friends in other dorms without putting on a coat.

I once had a roommate who hardly showered and smelled horrible. He would take his shoes off and place them neatly next to his bed, then take his socks off and lay them neatly on each shoe. Then, the next morning... he would put them back on. How bad was the room? I had a friend who visited me one night. He farted up a storm and other people couldn't smell it cuz the room smell was worse.

LOL

There will always be stories and liars like that.

If someone was murdered, it is very likely that RIT will find out.

If a student misses class for an unknown reason, the professor will likely contact their department and that department will contact ResLife and they will pass the word along to their staff.

I was a Resident Advisor for almost 2 years. I had a few residents who were skipping class or not doing well in school. They had perfect attendance, then suddenly stopped going to class. They were doing well in class, then suddenly flunking a bunch of stuff. Either way, my boss was informed by RIT and passed the word along to me... for me to check into it and see what was wrong. It was usually depression, new girlfriend/boyfriend, drugs/alcohol, homesickness, etc.

This is a good idea. A guy had commit sucide (not in the dorms, out in the woods) not long before I went to NTID. RA could possibly stop a student from doing the same. This is a good idea and I don't know what was the policy back then in '70s.

Uh, I am a returning student at RIT and I can guarantee with 100 percent honesty that there is no bar in the tunnels.

I'm sorry but when I see people act like they know everything then get everything wrong, I feel like it is in my nature to correct them on everything they say.

And you do realize that 70's policy and 2000's policy are vastly different, right?

Yep! I was a student there in the late 90's and now I am a student there again, and I can honestly that there has been SOME changes to the policy.

Do tell me what are the changes. I am just curious.

Yes, I guess at that. I was a student there in late 70's to early 80's. I am sure that there are new buildings that I won't know.

Are you saying that there is no bar in the tunnel anymore??? There was a bar when I was a student (late 70's to early 80's). I can't remember under what dorm it was. I remember I had to pass the Corner store (going away from Tower A/Ellingson [sp?]) to get to the bar. It is small and you can order sandwiches or pizza along with beer, etc. There is a video game there. You said you was a student in late 90's. They could have shut down the bar by then. My turn to correct you. :) There was a bar in the tunnel in my time. By the way, where do you go for a bar - off campus?? Is the Corner store still there ?
