Rion Waterproof HAs

that's interesting that you have some just sitting around. very interesting. I was very curious about these hearing aids when I looked at the Rion website. but I wouldn't want to get a new aid through my current HA audie. Would it be possible you could send 1 my way, just so I can give it a try? if it didn't work out for me, I am working on collecting used hearing aids to donate to deaf kids in Africa through the African Hope Initiative (I have a couple of friends that's working with the Initiative with the deaf African kids), and could donate the Rion. If not, that's cool too.

I often thought about something like those so I would exercise more and not worry about ruining hearing aids with weather and perspiration. :)

Sure, if you are interested in One of the hearing aids and you feel comfortable with giving me your mailing address please send me a private message

I don't need one thanks, I have an old set I use whenever the weather does allow me out.

Save them for someone who has no backup.

I do think it is a good idea. :) Thanks.

I looked it up.. these are the water-resistant ones.. not the swimming ones :(
Thanks anyway though...
Wish I had $1000... found them online for that much.. i'd be happy with one for my L ear just for swimming. Ive been considering wearing one of my naida's for aquafit (well.. considering going at all), but im just soooo nervous about it.. and Aquafit doesn't even require your head to go under.

quick story

I used to have insured hearing aids they were big BTE Widex. I have always been rough on hearing aids and lots of repairs for water damage etc. They did a water repair for about the third time and then I accidentally ran that same one through the washing machine.... after I dried it out it worked better than ever. After that I ran it through on purpose now and then and it would clean up the sound that had gotten kind of staticky. Weird but true eventually it went away like all my hearing aids. Moral of story: they can make the damn things bulletproof if they want to.

wow inspirabull, very interesting about washing your hearing aids to make them work better. Very interesting!

in theory so long as all the water dried out before it was turned on it would be okay. however, im amazed that none of the parts ever corroded/rusted!
Can't say i'm planning on trying it, so i'll have to take your word for it!

the Naida was always water resistance, but it's not waterproof. And if you take the normal battery door off the Naida and replace it with the battery door that holds the FM boot, water resistance is gone.

Yah whoa I did not mean anyone should try this! If I remember what finally did kill that one was I was working just inland from the west coast of Alaska and the salt air would be in the morning fog, that did kill that one- I am supposed to wear two but somehow one is what happens. The salt in the moisure caused bright green corrosion and ultimately death, ... sadness,, bowed head.. empty billfold...melancholy tears
