From this: http://www.kotaku.com/gaming/diec-2005/diec-revolution-controller-holds-new-secret-140588.php

Miyamoto’s at it again. We’ve just seen the Revolution controller propaganda that Iwata-san screened at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. And now, here’s Shiggy at the podium, wrapping up his presentation and talking about all the possibilities the remote control offers.

“… you could use that extra peripheral with the controller for numchakus,” he says, gesturing. I feel like I’ve heard this sale a million times now. Yes, numchakus, cool for FPS, cooking games, I got it.

“There’s another secret,” he says. I perk up. “But I’m not going to go into that here. That’ll be for a later date.”

He sweeps into an abrupt closing and before I know it the gaming legend is off the stage. A picture of Mario flashes on the screen. A polite “arigatou gozaimashita” is written below.

No Shiggy, thank you.

Cannot wait myself for when all is told about all this secrective crap Nintendo's pulling. I like the remote myself actually. I m expecting add-ons such as the Gamespot mockup where the remote slid into a Gamecube like controller. Nifty.

Although the remote looks nifty, it does bring up some concerns. Are we going to have to spend extra money on add-ons for the remote? It's kinda like the Donkey Kong Beat games. They sell the bongo drums with the game. With the Nintendo Revolution, they're probably going to try selling extra attachments for the remote so that gameplay can be made easier. If that's the case, people will see a game and struggle with it. So, they go out and spend more money on an attachment. A new racing game comes out and people find it difficult to use the remote. So, they go out and spend more money on another attachment.

Know what I also realized? After seeing a Japanese commercial, I've come to realize that people could develop carpal tunnel syndrome. The controllers that we see with the past systems (Xbox, Xbox 360, Gamecube, Playstation, Playstation 2, Dreamcast, N64, etc.) don't involve extra hand movement, just thumb and finger movements. Other peripherals include guns and floor pads. The guns don't really involve the movement of the wrists, just the finger to pull the trigger and the arm to aim. The floor pads only require the use of jumping, stepping, and moving the legs around. The new Nintendo Revolution remote is supposedly designed so that users can turn and move their wrists around to perform certain duties.

What do you think?

I would feel much more comfortable using a controller with just moving my thumbs.

not my wrists, otherwise it looks embrassassing.

Nintendo Revloution isn't Revloutionary...

it's Xbox360. :D

fuck off you wish xbox 360 is revoltuionary  it only has better graphics and it isn't new.

The Revolution has someting revolultionary and that is the controller.

Yeah just the controller.

is that it?

what about dvd? music? internet? HDD? Hi Def? etc...

from what I know, Nintendo mentioned that it won't support high defintion, which would makes graphics much sharper and clearer than ever, but I guess graphics aren't always the answer, as I know that too but it should be more than just games, though. and I dont think the Revloution would pack an HDD in its console as I heard earlier that Sony would install the HDD into the PS3s before it ships. now that would make it alot easier for Playstation fanboys not having to buy an memory unit for the system and buy it later for backup memory, etc.

Nintemdo will support DVD playback. It will have online connectivity. Next time do your research before knocking the system.

that's what they said about the gamecube aka "project dolphin" before it came out and it failed miserably to have those kind of funtions.

:werd:

I read about Nintendo Dolphin years ago. My friends were all telling me about how Nintendo was going to blow away its competition by having DVD function. Later, they took back what they said because Gamecube didn't have that function.

sure, nintendo made a mistake with the gamecube but they won't this time.

I stick Nintendo because they know how to make games and that's good enough, no need for some game thats crap and has cool graphics.

nintendo is the GodFather of games and you have to admit that.

for gods sake all Microsoft care about is making money, Sony too but on a lesser scale, i only bought PS1, 2 because it had the final fantasy series.

Nintendo has what?, Zelda, Mario, Smash bro, metroid, exclusive Resident Evil games and now Square will make Final Fantasy for Revolution too since they patched up their argument with Nintendo.

and also Rare will make games for Nintendo again.

the future's looking good for the big N

speakin of Resident Evil, Nintendo lost the exclusive rights of the series and Capcom decided to take it back to Sony, where the orginal playstation was the reason to buy after one of the greatest hits ever published, "Resident Evil" on Playstation in 1996 and it should stay that way with Playstation, because it just seems more suitable.
Now Resident Evil 5 will be on Playstation 3 and Xbox360 (whoo whee! Resident Evil's debut on Xbox360! :P ) But what about Revloution? Capcom has no say in that one.
A new sonic title will be on Xbox360 and Playstation 3 but what about the revloution? Sega has no say in this one either. King Kong is already on Xbox360, and will be swining onto the Playstation 3, as well. but what about the Revloution? nobody says anything about that one.

Killing Day will be on PS3 and Xbox360. Revloution? unknown.

Project IM will be on the PS3, Xbox360, and even PC. Revloution? unknown.

Dark Sector will be on PS3, Xbox360, and PC. Revloution? unknown.

Another Alone In The Dark title will be on PS3 and Xbox360. Revloution? unknown.

you see, I wouldn't be surprised that if Revloution has so much less games to be published than Xbox360 and PS3 games being published... :|

There were never any reports about Rare making games for the Revloution yet.

I just read the rumors on the EGM Holiday magazine.

just because it's a rumor doesn't mean it's likely to become true.

It wouldn't really make sense though if Rare is bought by Microsoft, then Rare should only make games for Microsoft. not other companies. as well as with Bungie, is bought by Microsoft also. Do you see any games made by Bungie on other systems after 2001?

proably not.

now you get the idea.

Microsoft already have a character that is a symbol of the Xbox universe.

Master Chief. He is, and will be always, the most memoriable and respectful character of the most acclaimed games that came with Xbox on launch day in gaming history.

If it wasnt' for Bungie and Master Chief, the xbox wouldn't make a complete success.
