This is so heartbreaking. To be abandoned by the biological family.. perhaps due to one’s deafness, then to be adopted by an American couple and immersed in a new life. Only to be dumped like garbage one year later once the couple found out that the child’s deafness cannot be fixed. That poor poor child. My heart aches for that child. I hope the child will be adopted by a loving family who will not only embrace the child, but also her deafness. It will take her a long time to recover from this traumatic experience, perhaps she will never heal….

OMG! The insensitivity of these people is astounding! God knows, they don't deserve to be parents. Hopefully, this child will soon find a loving family. Hearbreaking! The poor child she is preggers with will have a hard life, I fear.
 
I saw that on DeafRead and it upset me. No kid should ever be treated like that. So what if she was deaf and that there was nothing that could have been done about the deafness? She's still a kid who needs a loving family.. A family that will love her for who she is, deaf or not.

Thats just so wrong... Hopefully karma will catch up with the parents...
 
On the other hand, we don't know whether or not they returned her b/c the mom was pregnant, or b/c hearing aids/CIs didn't work.
I really honestly hope that if it's the latter, that the person's baby turns out to be a complete and utter shit behavorially, like that seen with FAS.
I really don't have any trouble believeing that a parent could do something like that. People are so beyond superfical......and some parents just want high acheiving superficically perfect kids.
Oh, well................if the deaf child is old enough they'll end up at a Res School, and help keep a res program open.
Oh, and I can understand returning a kid b/c they have VERY significent health issues (ie like so profound, they are medically fragile and have ten billion different problems) or returning a behavorially disordered kid..............but SHEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Jeez... that's horrible!

They should make a billboard with a picture of the deaf kid with a message saying... "This kid was adopted, then un-adopted because he was deaf... thanks to Mr. and Mrs. (insert last name here)."
 
God will punish them. If anything happen to their unborn child. They ll regret for what they have done!! If unborn child is deaf?? Will they rid of that too?? What a fking stupid people!!!
 
That's horrible :(

We all are humans.. no one is perfect. It is very sad for this child to be rejected by an hearing parents who would not accept a child who is deaf, blind, CP, or anything, all they want their child is to be perfect. God made us who we are, and we live with it everyday.

That's a good idea!

I feel sorry for the little girl. I hope she'll get a great family and that she'll have counselling to overcome feelings of rejection and whatnot.
 
The cruelity of people still amazes me sometimes and this one just tops it all.

So tired of stupid hearing people trying to fix us instead of embracing us and our deafness. This little girl is being indirectly punished for her deafness and that is beyond cruel! I would adopt her!!!
 
I am total speechless... I feel want to adopt poor and innoncent deaf child. :tears:

It reminds me of my friend *A*. It was happened to her, too.

*A* born and raised in North Germany before married and move to live in Bavaria where we live. *A* know and accept her parents for see her as a hearing person. They send her to boarding school... until Sommer school vacation. 12 years old *A* was expected to pick up by her parents & siblings from school. She waited and waited with her teacher for her parents to pick her up but they doesn't come... It got teacher worried and thought something happened on their way to school... so she called at parent's house but the phone line were dead. *A* & her teacher went parent's house and got strange feeling and called Police... They found out that *A*'s parents were gone - all of her furniture are empty... but it look like that they move out... *A* stayed with her teacher for a while until they searched her parents... Her parents & siblings were out of Germany to where??? They found out that *A*'s parents were planned for long months... None of parent's employers know where they are. Just give them their notice in and simple disappeared... Very sad... :( Now *A* is happily married & have 2 adult children and already have a Grandchild. She thought about her parents sometimes and keep ask herself why her parents did to her... Its painful of her. :(
 
Just watched Deafmom's Vlog...I just wanted to cry. U just cant put the feelings of this cruel and inhuman act into words and I can see that Deafmom is struggling to put her feelings into words.

wow, your description sound scary...

Deafmom's Vlog is one of 2 links, I can't view here in the office.

2 of 4 links are working and other 2 links are not working... I have to wait until I am home from work and view it.
 
Wow - This has left me speechless. As a mother, I can't imagine how the girl had felt. I mean, the girl was starting to have a good rhythm with her adopted parents and yet, this happens. It's just so appalling.

I was looking at DeafMom3's vlog and she pointed out that there are ways to do intensive research regarding of CI/HA and yet, the parents didn't do a thorough research. It makes me think, Why would they adopt the child in the first place before not doing a thorough research? It just seems like they wanted a "quick" fix and put the CI on - Presto! Problem solved. Come on, really - Do you think it would work like that? No it doesn't.

That girl is going to need a lot of help down the road. It's horrible.
 
This is so sad, poor girl. I would love more than anything to adopted her. :tears:
 
As sad as this is, isn't there a 'link' providing to the story itself rather than excerpts from others via Blogs/Vlogs? If so, it would be good to see if all possible, if not, then it may be understandable due to the fact that this girl is a minor and confidentiality prevents any details pertaining to the former adoptive parents and child.


Another perspective to consider--in the long run, this may be a 'good' thing for the girl, in which it could possibly have prevented her from years of unhappiness. Now all we can hope for is a life of having better opportunities for her, her well-being, her happiness...afterall, life's precious and needs to be handled with care and love! :)
