Does anyone know of any ASL using schools or programs for a family that is 2 hours away from St. Louis? The kid is going to start a once a week program at Moog :( But, I have nudged her a bit towards maybe looking into using ASL as well, b/c the syndrome that the kid has causes severe spoken language issues. (we are hoh but have very severe spoken language delays.) Does anyone know of any local ASL using programs or anything like that?

You need to be more specific about direction from St. Louis. If west it is Missouri and if east it is Illinois. Also, county and city could make a difference.

Yup. St Louis has three schools for the deaf. MOOG on Grand Ave. CID (Central Institute for the Deaf) on Kinghighway and BJC Hosptial. St Joseph for the Deaf in two locations... Chesterfield and De Paco (spelling). All schools are sorta of Oralist and Fleible ASL.

Missouri School for the Deaf is about 2 to 3 hours away from St Louis. MSD in Fulton, MO.

Hope that clear little....

They are near cape girardeau mo.....They are looking for ASL using programs, and maybe even augmentive and alternative communication as well. (kid is multihandicapped)
