Rental Car in Europe

Or you could look for the rental company website and send an email to inquire?

I emailed four different rental companies, and got no response from them. I'm still waiting.

Yes, You can as you bring passport and driver license with you and make sure your friends as passenger bring their passport too. We did that before.

No UK? What's wrong with it? Too confused with other side of the road?

I've been to London for a week, it was boring trip.

No international driver license needs since you already have passport.

I do believe AAA have international driver license that allow me to drive anywhere in the world.

Don't they have Eurailpass anymore? Why do you need a car?

I have several friends live in Holland, Germany, Paris and Switzerland

Uhm, use email?

I did, got no response.

Now that a way to get around Europe , hijack someone car.

I do not want to go through what Amanda Knox went through.

We chat via Skype frequently, they never rent a car before, and will ask rental company for me.

I was in Italy years ago. I did try to rent a car till I read the small print. Rental pay IS daily. Unlike the US you can pay for up to 1 week or one weekend with Avis and Enterprise..

My friends and I use the railways in Italy. Much easier and cheaper. The bus takes you everywhere in the city.
We were in Venice and we took the ferry boats. Always to walk and great too.

If you really need a rental car, go to any Avis (now with SEARS) or Enterprise or other and walk to the counter and write to them.

Make sure your passport does not expire within one year. Some countries are strict.
You need a visa if staying longer than some weeks.
Make a copy of your passport (the page with the picture and info) and give it to a relative or friend to fax to the American consulate in case you lost it.
And check with your bank if your ATM debit card is accepted there. If not, they will issue you a new one for travel only. Some banks charged higher rates for use.
And don't wear clothes with USA or American or any sport names. When I went in Europe in the 1990s, there were a lot of terrorism activities.
Learn some main foreign language words to be able to read.

True about ATM card, I'll get travel card and inform bank those countries I plan to visit and dates so bank will know where I go.

My passport expires in 2017, I'm good to go.

I went to London in 2008, Russia in 2009, they dress up much better than most of Americans. I am not going to wear US FLAG t-shirt, long socks, shorts, and a fanny wallet.
