Is it possible for me to rent a car in Paris and travel through Antwerp, Belgium - Amsterdam, Holland - Frankfurt, Germany - Zurich, Switzerland - Geneva, Switzerland - back to Paris?

or

Does rental car allow me to drive inside France only?

:hmm:

84 views........... None of you have rented a car and traveled in Europe? Maybe you choose train or airplane (RyanAir) over rental car?

Never been aboard, so would not have any info about this. Maybe ask your travel agency if they have any informations you need to know?

I asked my travel agency, and she do not know about this. I dropped her, and asked another agent....same result. It is best way to ask rental agency in Europe, but problem is Sorenson VRS won't accept international calls. Maybe I should call Hertz/Avis/Budget customer service to get answer from them?!

Or you could look for the rental company website and send an email to inquire?

Never been to any of those places, that's why I didn't answer. I've only been to and from Eastern Europe. ( Home to Romania ) I never rent a car there because most of my family is there. :dunno2:

I don't see why not, since the establishment of the EU, alot of barriers have been lifted. I would inquire with car rental company and embassies of each country of interest represented in the US.

you should be able to do that. it might be a good idea to obtain an international driver license.

that would depend on which car rental place you pick as it has its own rule.

Yes, You can as you bring passport and driver license with you and make sure your friends as passenger bring their passport too. We did that before.

No UK? What's wrong with it? Too confused with other side of the road?

No international driver license needs since you already have passport.

Sorry, I've never travelled to Europe. :dunno:

Really? Oh poor ya. How come Navy don't took you to Europe?
TCS sailed there on his Med cruise but women weren't allowed on ships when I was on active duty. There were some overseas billets available but not for me.

Don't they have Eurailpass anymore? Why do you need a car?

I forget about that. So when women finally allow? Late 1980's?

Non-combat, gradually started 1978 (first with auxiliary ships, like tenders).

(Sorry, I don't want to hijack this thread.)
