There is a statue of the ten commandments in the judicial building in Alabama.
Chief justice not backing down in Ten Commandments case

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore is greeted by supporters Thursday in front of the state's Judicial Building.

MONTGOMERY, Alabama (CNN) -- Alabama's chief justice, bucking his fellow state Supreme Court justices and a federal judge, will turn again to the nation's highest court in his fight to keep a monument to the Ten Commandments in the state judicial building.

I would like to hear your opinions on that. Should they leave it or remove it? Why?

Oh holy Father! bless us.. and sway the satan..
Keep the Ten of Commandments! :)

of course they have to remove it. its the law!

the idiotic judge should know better than that, He's a JUDGE making a mockery of the law!

Further, he's being paid by the TAXPAYERS. who wants a lawless thug on the payroll? Dale, you?

Looks like the nutso Alabama judge got tossed off the bench (suspended) by his peers. At least there are SOME rational people in Alabama. Congrats.

Its your turn people! Put God back in Church where She belongs!

"She....." hehehe,
:smash: next.

I'm against the nuclear-witch-hunt era starting all over again in my sweet country. Times are a-changin' with all respect and liberty for all individuals. It starts with us. You. Now what?

I'm not for or against religion, but I think that this religious thing is going too far. Nothing can stop us from following our own religion. If they remove the ten commandments, we can still read the Bible to see the ten commandments. Leaving the ten commandments there is like advertising for Jehovah's Witnesses!

i voted "dunno" -- granted YES separation of Church and State should be followed as its already on the law books -- and YES the statue should stay there to remind the ppl of the 10 commandments and the morals to it -- so its like a 50/50 thing

why not instead of having it at the judicial bldg -- relocate it to some other prime spot that has nothing in regards to state politics -- ie: at a park, at the center of town square -- it might help reduce the friction politically and actually separate church and state

just a thought i had

here's another thing to think about . . . one of the commandments requires church attendence. so if this nutsie defrocked Alabama judge insists that the ten commandments must be part of the justice dept, is he gonna send folks who don't go to church to the gallows? :naughty:

I am against the removal of ten commandments. Because our forefathers of the United States used what is called "Dvinity Law" that kept the morality of United States as sound as possible for so long up until recent years that changed into "Modernized morality." When "Divinity Law" was removed, there was a suddent raise in crime activities. In my humble opinion (IMHO) ten commandment should stay, that way the morality of the United States will last longer than any nation in the world.

i agree with linuxgold. The Ten Commandments is a significant doctrine in which core morality are based on. It serves not only as the principle of the laws of the land but is also historical significant in the founding of the nation. Taking away the stone is an act of disrespect of the fathers of our nation. it should stay where it is.

Huh? you mean to tell me that the ONLY reason morality exists in humans is because of THE FEAR OF GOD!!??

The bottom line, if you don't like the law, get the law changed FIRST!

Otherwise, if you break the law, you're an outlaw!

btw, I want to put a satanic temple next to the ten C's. is this gonna be a problem with you guys?

Implement and analylze the effectiveness of your proposed law. I would stick to "If it is not broken, then don't fix it." We're broken, not the law, our desire to corrupt should be repaired first before the law is considered.

Huh? I'm not proposing any law. The law already exists. This is why the judge got the boot!

lg also sez: " our desire to corrupt should be repaired first"

How? by forcing fear down our throats a la saddam style? There are civilized ways. The "fear of God" is not one of them.

:type: Agreed, Bush - IMO fear has always been an efficient tool used to control the mass in the past.
