Red Meat Can Increase Mortality Risk

Yes, its true, too much red meat is not good for you same
is pork too. I have cut back on red meat and pork. I only
eat chicken, turkey, fish. I will eat beef and pork occassionally,
like maybe once every 3 or 4 months cuz i do like steak and
pork loins, hehe. Its just a matter of how much you consume
red meat, its better not to eat too much red meat and pork,
just to be on safe side..

In fact, a red meat itself color is made of red dye from the injection at the factory. The color red looks fresh so that some people eat it. Without a red dye, the meat looks brown which is fine, but it won't last long. Actually, the red dye preserves the meat which last a few days or a little longer in the refrigerator. If without the red dye and a couple of hours, the meat turns color gray which means that it is spoiled or rotten. I am surprised about that, and I thought that you might like to know about it.

When you go to a grocery and order some fishes, you need to smell the fish first before you buy it. If you able to smell the fish, then it's old. If no smell, then that's really fresh fish.

MEAT!

I don't eat much red meat as I usually eat white meat like chicken, turkey, fish etc.

All meat consumption increases homocysteine levels. It really does not matter if the meat is red, white, or whatever. And increased homocysteine levels has been linked to Coronary Artery Disease.

I'm a carnivore, and proud of it, but I don't eat meat three meals a day or whatever. I don't want to be falling out a window on a high-rise and wishing I'd eaten that second slice of pizza. :D

Actually, omnivore. Human beings are omnivores by nature. We aren't carnivores.

jasin,

do you know difference between homocysteine and C-RP levels? I had the C-RP tested and inflammation very low <eat mostly vegan> but didn't have the other tested. <had bloods workup and "female" exam stuff because husband laid off and group insurance run out at end of month>

thanks-

I like to eat meat with little pink, more juicy.

I noticed alot of ground beef at Wal mart are gray on bottom and you couldn't see until you open it at home, after I found gray on bottom then went back to store and return for refund.

I don't buy meats at Wal mart anymore due poor process for pre-packing meat but they are used had butchers in 90's and rid of them in 2000 due situation with union and switch to pre-packing meats.

I am surprised about the Walmart. I think that the union is doing dirty its work for money. You know a president of union makes a lot of money than any union employees. Perhaps, you could buy some meats at a local meat store.

I don't eat red meat very often but when I do, I always request medium-rare. I like a little red showing. :P Nothing worse than an overcooked, tough as shoe leather steak.

ha my friend said the same thing about the shoe leather to me yesterday. She prefers medium rare like you. i do not want to go there with the detail about how red meat is. *shudder* :D

Union has nothing with dirty business for Wal mart and it's very different situation.

Not all unions are dirty business.

Yup. I just put up a general info about the union. I personally think that almost all union presidents are doing the same thing - like 70 percent. I can't confirm that, but it is just my opinion. You said that it's different situation then I believe you.

Would you like to eat some spicy chicken meatless patties for your supper? You probably would be :iobarf: . I dunno.
