Reaction to President Obama's snub of France

Do you think there was a threat? Seems like they should have at least made a statement about regretting not going.
 
France: The French newspaper of record, Le Monde, ran a front-page headline reading "Nous sommes tous Américains", or "We are all Americans". Following the attacks, French president Jacques Chirac released a statement: "It is with great emotion that France has learned of these monstrous attacks—there is no other word—that have recently hit the United States of America. And in these appalling circumstances, the whole French people—I want to say here—is beside the American people. France expresses its friendship and solidarity in this tragedy. Of course, I assure President George Bush of my total support. France, you know, has always condemned and unreservedly condemns terrorism, and considers that we must fight against terrorism by all means."

Kerry will be going there this week. The president of France has said that the fact our president visited the French Embassy was enough.

The president of France was being diplomatic and polite. What else could you expect him to say?
 
I don't think it's necessary for the President to show up. If he already called French President, it should be sufficient, IMO.
 
My guess is that the Secret Service had a lot to do with nobody from our government being in France. It was probably deemed to big of risk.

I disagree with this. The terrorists need to see that our president stand united with France . Israel at war with the terrorists all the time and their leader was at the front line on the march. By Obama not being there make us look weak and that the terrorists are wining instilling their fear into us !
I want a strong fearless leader not one that hide behind a telephone to give his support .

Our troops fight against terrorists in Iraq and Afghan for a long time, and we killed Bin Laden and other leaders. Many brave soldiers of ours died. How does it make us look weak? What about troops from France, Germany, Italy and others? They don't go there to destroy terrorists in Middle East because they don't want their soldiers to die. It makes them look weak, doesn't it?

OK, those rallies were to show that we are not afraid, right? Will that stop terrorism? No, we have to fight back by killing the groups wherever they were trained. Lets see if France will send troops to to destroy Al Qaeda in Yemen where those two terrorists were trained. If not, we will do it because we are not afraid.
 
where are these so called moderate muslims...little 10 year old was used as suicide bomber today what sort of people do that to children and yes Obama should gone it makes look cowardly and scared the terrorist win.
A Fox reporter was made to apologize for saying we got muslim only areas in uk.he right we do unfair he had do full apology maybe lose job bc he told truth

yes our troops were there but our President wasn't.
