Sony is allllliiitttttttllleee different than Nintendo because the Playstation has a longer life span than of 4 years even when the Playstation 2 is already out, plenty of third parties tend to make more games for the orginal Playstation instead on Playstation 2 and now that it've been 10 years, Sony and third party companies decided it's long enough and start focusing on making more games for the Playstatioin 2 and same plan will go with the Playstation 2 still having alot of life even when the Playstation 3 is already out. This is something that most gamers want...because they want more games out on their current system for more than 4 years because 4 or 5 years isn't really enough and they had to waste more money on buying a new system in the next 4 or 5 years later and I think that's just abit silly. so Playstation 2 would still keep going strong 'til 2010! thats like another 5 years away and more great games are coming to the Playstation 2. so the Playstation never died...it just ended with a great deal of respect because of great games and solid third party support this is something that we should all know that if there was never a Playstation, then we wouldn't get all the great experience of gaming in years to come. Thanks to Crash Bandicoot, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Twisted Metal and Tekken as memoriable games ever made for the Playstation and all of this wonderful experience and fun from it.
Nintendo is only keeping themselves strong for making continuous games of Mario, Zelda, and Metroid but wouldn't be too strong anymore when it lacks anymore third party support so c'mon...why do you still love Nintendo when they actually suck now? they just like to fuck you up with your money and when they tell you that a new Zelda title is coming durin the hoilday season, bu then again, they changed to spring cause they are just fuckin around with hype and when they tell you about the remote controller and explains how cool and exciting it is, then you find out how fucking stupid that is cause same thing happened with me when I got excited about the Nintendo DS and cant' wait to try it out but then when I tried it out in stores, and played a demo of Metroid and others, I fucking hate it because I'm left handed, and it feels awkard using the pen on my right hand when i had to use the hand hand for pushing the D-button ugh what's the hell is wrong with Nintendo!?
and Nintend has just released Gameboy Mirco, but about a week later, they just released new versions of Gameboy Advance SP with a much BRIGHTER screen! I mean, what the fuck!? I just got my GBA SP three years ago and they just released a new version with a brighter resloution. and gameboy mirco is way out of my taste because it's too fucking small...even at a ridculious price of $100 when the GBA SP is at about $80. before the gamecube came out, Nintendo told us on the Nintend Power mazagine that it would play DVDs and CDs and even come with an online support and did that come true? the answer is obviously no. Nintendo just want to say a bunch of lies to get your hype up and get more of your money out of your savings when the GamCube is just a piece of crap that just plays games, games, and more games. while it's a good thing that Nintendo focues on games, but c'mon, Nintendo uses those mini discs to avoid privacy and most third party companies were pissed cause those mini discs dont quite hold as much data as those DVD rom discs do that are used on the Playstation 2 and Xbox. Why do you see that Resident Evil series for GameCube have two discs? I mean, c'mon... Nintendo needs to learn how to get with the program and see what gamers REALLY want! more mature games, do more than just play games like play DVDs, CDs and online support, etc...
and the obvious truth is that Xbox and Playstation 2 have WAY more, more, MORE games, more games for adults to play, more games for teenagers to play, and more games for kids to play, etc. most games for GameCube are usually for Kids and Teenagers bleh I mean, c'mon...
I just wouldnt' be surpirsed how Nintendo ends up to be a 3rd party company someday.
Well yeah that's true, you may be saying Nintendo is going the same way Sega did with Dreamcast. But I strongly believe Nintendo will NEVER become third party because probably of what Sable said, but Nintendo has come a long way from the old days of Nintendo Entertainment Systems. What about Sega Dreamcast, it died out, but it provided broadband connection, standard disc size for games and third parties didn't complain, some awesome game titles? It managed to die... Well what we can do is wait and see what happens with Nintendo and Revolution. I'm not complaining that Nintendo is wasting my money, at least I bought these titles at 20 bucks or lower and the console at 130 bucks. I'm a bargain hunter so I look for more bangs for less bucks.
As for Nintendo building hype, I got used to it. Remember Ultra 64? It was supposed to come out as soon as it got its title, then due to copyright conflict in Japan, Ultra 64 got changed to Nintendo 64 and they had to extend the release date. Later on, Nintendo was going to release the Double Disc Drive, a special drive that will allow you to expand the capabilities of your cartridge games like Zelda with new maps, new weapons, new shit from that disc. Nintendo built so much hype on that and it never got released. After that, I got used to Nintendo's hype.
Um, the Nintendo DS have an option where you can select to switch to left hand users. I read that in EGM and I believe an online article from IGN when the Nintendo DS first debuted at E3 and later on I remember playing WarioWare for the DS and it asked if I am right handed or left handed so I picked right handed. Nintendo know that there are left handed players so Nintendo made it imperative for third parties to let players choose the settings so the right area of the DS's buttons would act as the Directional buttons and the directional buttons would be vice versa with the buttons on the right.
Anyways, I didn't pick up a copy of the Nintendo DS because I waited to see what titles are out for it. There are some cool ones but I still don't know because I have not gotten used to the layout of the Nintendo DS. It takes time and patience to get used to it.
As for Nintendo gaining control over third parties titles, what to release and what not, you should have know that by now, since the SNES days when Nintendo told the creators of Mortal Kombat not to include blood and gore in their SNES title then later on, a cheat code would be released and you can use blood and gore. It's not because of the GameCube, Nintendo restricted many things from hitting the console, it's has been an ongoing thing with Nintendo. I got used to it because Nintendo is the one to set the balance here. If not for Nintendo, things would be screwy here, I'm guessing. Also, the issue beckoning for mature games to come to the Nintendo consoles has been another ongoing thing for Nintendo. Nintendo KNOW what the gamers want but for some reason, (which I do not know why, I need to research on that) Nintendo won't. Perhaps, Nintendo want to be viewed as a "less hardcore game industry" that appeals the younger audience including the females.
I just don't know all of the facts right now because I have become out of tune with the video gaming industry, thanks to Sony and Microsoft. They have ruined the whole gaming industry with mindless games and lacking of challenges and more. They are more graphical focused rather than conceptual and logical focused on games. I have played many games for the PS2 that a lot of people have said to be awesome, and I beat it in like 3 hours and it was wayyyyyy too easy to beat. Not so challenging unlike the Nintendo games I used to play which was so challenging and had high replay value. I have yet to see that in many games today, even in the RPG games. RPG games has become so redundant in sense of storylines and elements. It's not because I'm getting old, I still thrive on playing games, but it's because the video gaming industry is getting old, mediocre and recycled.
