Quilting - a lost art

Hi SG, you are making me hungry with the chocolate avatar.. mmm! :giggle:

Quilting is quite easy and you do feel good knowing you made one.

Wow I love your bathroom pictures Liebling! I think it is excellent idea to have built in shelves for the shower and it is much safer this way than install shelves. It looks like spa to me. :)

Do you mean 1st page of Reba's thread DIY? If yes, it's Reba, not me. There're plenty of DIY in long pages from 1st to end of pages... I think mine is 3rd or 4th page to end of pages.

Whoops my mistake. Reba, you did an amazing job from before to after.

Liebling, you are like me. I love to find things and refurbish it too!

Mrs. Bucket, Sunshine Lady, and Lilylover...you all do beautiful work. Thank you for sharing your art with us.

I'm so envious! I love quilts...I used to have a nice collection of handmade quilts but they got stolen.

Did you know about the new trend that is considering quilts as literature, especially given its rich history in contributing to helping run the underground railroad? Here's one of my favorite links: Secret Codes in Slave Quilts

Thank you jillio and deafbajagal!!

Yes, it is true that quilting is considered one of the literature now in slavery. Some quilts are so intricately sewn that they need to be handled with care and with cotton gloves because of the oils of our hands touching.

Some quilts are now considered history timepieces and are being restored and hung up as history era quilts. I think it is amazing!
