Does anyone know which state has the best section 8 housing in a safe area? Thinking of moving to California or some other state close to the water.

I highly doubt it. Plus there is a waiting list for section 8. Why moving to CA or other seaboard state? Living near any ocean is very expensive. Section 8 housing is very rare in the nice area. Most of section 8 housings are in bad area.

Yup, getting Section 8 in Alabama will going limited the choice to city of Birmingham or poor suburbs with underperforming, worst schools. The bus service is horrible.

California - you will have deal with long wait list and you will not find any Section 8 that near to ocean so only limited you to impoverished neighborhood like South LA, Compton, Rampart, East LA, East Valley, Watts, poorer part of San Bernardino/Riverside County and Santa Ana.

I'm sure everyone wants to move to a cheap house by the ocean so therefore houses by ocean are $$$$. The best luck.

Buy a 30 feet sailboat for $5,000, then you pay $250/monthly for parking, property tax free, and you can sail away in the ocean everyday for free.
