question for deafie hearing ad wearers or those that decided not to wear hearing aids

I have only worn HA for a brief time due to being involved with the Cochlear implant program. During which time I could hear some with the HA's but without speechreading it was very hard to decipher what I was hearing. I could not stand having molds in my ears either or the obscure sounds of feedback. Aides for me were just not the answer I was looking for. If for some reason I would have been declined as a CI canidate I would have progressed the rest of my natural life in pure silence ( with debilitating tinnitus)......
