Perhaps she got confused between these two women? I was confused when I was younger as well and always thought that Audrey was Katherine. No need to get snarky here. :hmm:

Hello! I am not deaf (though I do have hearing loss in my left ear from being hit on that side) and I also don't know any deaf people. I have always wanted to learn ASL, think it may be helpful in my chosen career, and wound up here hoping to make some new friends and learn more about deaf culture. I have only been here a few weeks, but everyone seems nice, if not a little distant, like on most forums when someone is brand new. I would imagine a lot of people join, post a few times, and then are gone, so people probably want to see how serious you are or if you will stick around before they get too involved...at least I am hoping that is what it is!!
 
Hi Jenniifer so you are a hearie like me or so we are called :) and that is exactly why I am here to make new friends and embrace myself in a culture I would other wise not be exposed to I am glad that someone else is as opened hearted. I am applying for nursing schools at the moment and I have no idea how often I will use my ASL once I learn it that is but you never know right!

I had no idea that in sign there were different languages as well even BSL is different than ASL that is fascinating to me I can't wait for my classes to start. One of my favorite people in the world is from Norwich and I pick up on her sayings all the time, for instance my new favorite is "you musn't do that" but I have to throw in her accent for taste.... Anyway nice to meet you and I look forward to seeing your post
