She bled day before yesterday, yesterday, and today.

She is almost 9 months old and she is on her mentrual cycle.

I saw blood spots on carpet and one spot on my pant.

I can't believe it can be this messy.

I didn't tell my mom... She'll be pissed off.

I guess I gotta have her spay. Is there any other way to stop her bleeding like that?

You cant stop it, it will be like that for couple of days.

You better to keep your puppy inside of the house, as ya wouldnt wanna to have male dogs after your pup. Then suddenly have more babies later on.

If ya gonna take your pup outside bathroom, I suggested you put the lead on pup and stay with it while it gonna for an bathroom break then bring it inside of the house.

For spray, you have to wait until the menstrual cycles is over then inform your vet that the puppy had first menstrual cycles. Most vet will operate after pup had it first menstrual cycle. Some do it before.

There is no way to stop it. The only thing you can do is as SG suggested and wait till after the menstrual cycle is over and then have her spayed. But warning it is very expensive to do so.

I suggest you check around for a low cost spay and neuture clinic.

Im sure your mother wouldnt be that upset. She knows a girl dog will have these. And yes sometimes they can be messy just like our own.

use old underwear and cut a little hole in the back of underwear for the tail to go thru... it will help from blood getting on furniture or carpet. U should take the dog to have it spayed after the dog finishes its cycle.

Thank you all for good advice.
My mom made appointment for next week at 8 am Tuesday.

If you don't tell your mom, she's gonna find out anyway. So, you might as well tell her anyway.

u shlda had the pup spayed when she was 6 months this wouldn't happen and the price would have been cheaper :-X

Big kudos from me for going to have your puppy spayed.

the only downside, I am sorry just something as trivial as little menstrual blood prompted you to do that, not the possibility of puppies in future..

Dog period last approximately 4 weeks. Miss P, we warned you when you got this puppy, and now your paying 4 it.

Miss Pino,

It is time for your puppy to be spayed now! She is in heat right now so make sure keep her away from all intact males. I promise you, you will not want to have a litter. It can be very exhausting and finding a good home for your fufutre puppies will not be easy. Female dogs get into heat twice a year and it lasts for 1 month! :)
I advise you to spay her soon!!!!!!!!!!

Yup, we warned Miss P last summer, she don't believe us. Now she have to deal with it, and I don't think Miss P would believe you anyway, I know her too well. She may have fun with tons of horny male dog around her house... gawd! Once male dog fuck female dog in heat, there is no way to get it break apart!

That is shame actually. I hope she will listen and if she didn't. She's not supposed to have a dog at all. I hate seeing unwanted puppies going to wrong home or dump in the shelter while spay/neuter can prevent the whole problem.

I agree that Miss P should've spayed her dog when she was about 6 months old, that way she won't have to go through this like now....Miss P will have to wait until the heat ends and then have the vet spay her....meanwhile, keep the dog locked up inside the house or the male doggies will want to pay her a visit for some sex and then puppies.
Miss P can buy some dog pads to wear so it won't be messy...you can get these at local pet shops....and places like SPCA provides low cost spay/neuter fees.
I had Oreo spayed through SPCA and had her microchipped too....didn't cost me that much. ;)

Yeah I am paying the price....

I don't know how I'm gonna get these blood stain out.

My mom might have to buy new carpet...
I don't know how much that will cost.

I got blood stain on my sock...

Puppy just dripping blood everywhere...
It is a nightmare.

Well I got fences around my backyard, hope my puppy doesn't dig her way out.

Vet said will perform surgury on her Tuesday... We got 2 days..... Sigh. :(
I hope she doesn't bleed in the carseat while we are on our way to the vet. :squint:

Call your vet and see how to get rid of the blood stain on your carpet etc. due to your puppy.

I am sure they will have a product or advice that will work and save you money.

You can also ask for a natural product that is chemical free to clean the carpet etc too.

Hope this helps. :) :thumb:

arrghhhh Miss P ! shouldn't you stop worrying about damn carpet, car, and start thinking about your dog's well being?

first of all there are pads for females in heat available at pet stores, surely they have some online, and second what's wrong with wrapping your puppy in a blanket or better yet for transporting use a cage? it's safer for any animal to be in a cage if it have to go someplace, like a vet.
I am against training cages but for tranport I feel it's the best way.

As for the carpet - did you try to clean it with lots of soap, and some ammonia? check in an unconspicious place if ammonia won't damage the carpet and if nothing happens, use it on the blood spots. Don't use HOT water as it sets the blood use cool water - not too cold either.
Rinse well.

I though that by now you could have at least make a hole on some child panties and put it on your dog..
