puny little car, need to identify

Has anyone ever been in one of those 2 seater smart cars, I was wondering what they're like. Kevin.

If you tap in "1965 Hillman Imp" there's a car that looks just like the one purplecatty posted. That was the year I was born ! Kevin.

Thank you!! I believe so that must be Hillman IMP.. i love that kind of car!

So you are 5 yrs older than I am. LOL! However, I hope someone would bring the old cars from other country to USA.

They are everywhere in my town. I dislike it because it looks so fragile to me. I could see that when the smart car is moving on the busy road. The car itself is kind of shaky. I dislike being shake in the car. no thanks! yes it's way smaller. I think hillman imp is bigger than the smart. I hope!

Perhaps. Although in general, they aren't the ideal car for most people.

I've seen some smart cars painted black with silver squiggly lines all over them, from a distance they look as though they've been scratched by someone. Kevin.

"5 years" But I probably look 20 years older ! :D Kevin.

Im sure that you save a lot of $ by not dying color your hair. thats wise of you! =P

My grandad was losing his hair and asked his barber if he could sale him something to help keep it in. He sold him a cardboard box.:giggle: Kevin.

I think Hillman Imps had their engines at the rear of the car instead of under the bonnet. Kevin.

It looks like somethinbg Mr. Bean would drive.

There was an episode of Mr Bean which was filmed at a fairground in Southsea, Portsmouth in about 1993. I lived nearby then and watched it being made. Kevin.

Did You Know? - Hillman Imp

It's definitely a Hillman Imp, look at the front of the car. You can see that the name emblem were removed. It's pretty faded away, but you can see it spelling out H I L L M A N.

Yeah! that's the car!!! No wonder the chrome on hood was the one missing on the car.

the Wikipedia have better information of this car. It's a rear engine car. The engine slanted 45 degree to give room and to keep center of gravity low. It's 874cc Overhead Camshaft.

That explained why Hillman Imp look so much like 60's Chrysler in front. It mentioned that Chrysler bought it but sold it later.

Thankyou for finding it. I guess I did not do a good job put wordings on google search.

I like this car and it's cute. I would want to own one and modify the engine to electric so I can drive to and from work everyday. It seem lightweight.

4 seaters cute little sedan are hard to find.

PS: sorry for slow to respond the thread cuz I was sooo busy during week.

Thanks :ty:
