I read the bible and I researched. I hesitated for a while with some thinkings and trying to understand. I think I know why God made me deaf on purpose. I think the answer is that God punished me so He made me deaf and make me learn. Obviously, I was a very bad evil. After I was born, God decided to punish me so this is how God created me deaf so I had to learn this suffer. I do not know why I was a bad evil. So, He needs me to be deaf so that way I can listen to God better. So, no wonder why I talked a lot about God lately.

Does it make sense to you?

By the way, I was born by unknown cause. My mother was never sick when she was pregnant with me and I was never sick when I was a baby.

Errrmmm...I don't agree with the first statement, although it can be quite easy to come to that conclusion, being different and all. I understand it. Believe me. :) Your thoughts make sense, but I have doubts as to whether that's God's intention or not.

Like you I was born deaf - they have a theory though - my mother was teaching at the time and one of her students came down with the measles. Mom didn't contract the illness, but she did come into contact with this kid prior to his getting sick.

I'll also add that I have trouble with my own faith, but for different reasons entirely. I'm not sure God punishes or judges one during their lifetime, but instead waits until they have lived their lives and are once again in his kingdom.

I don't think deafness is a punishment, either. :) I think there's a plan for each and every one of us, but instead of a punishment, perhaps it's a test.

We can't all be the same anyway, right?

Hi Malfoyish!:)

Thanks for your response!

Yeah, it's very difficult to understand what the scriptures mean.

I hope you're right about God for not punishing us. Maybe God needs to see if I have a faith in Him. like you said about a test....

My mother already had the german measles when she was 5 years old.

Ha....yeah, you're right that we can't be the same!

Thanks so much for your quick reply.

Oh, by the way, thanks for your message in the other thread about your language skill. I couldn't post my comment in the other thread because the other thread was locked. Anyway, your welcome!!:)

Stevie Wonders, he is blind, but I don't think God punish
him for that...

When he and Ray Charles played music, everybody was shocked...

"How a blind man play piano beautifully?"

Same thing with Beethoven a deaf guy...
And Marlee Matlin, she proves to the world that she can be successful actress...

And Christopher Reeves, he was determined and wanted Scientists to experiment Stem Cell. Even Ronald Reagan, his brain disease.

Jesus is so proud of us...

Look at closed caption and Relay service.... and t-mobile...
It will get better and better...

God wants us to get closer... help each other out...
Reach out to one another.

And my face, I don't think God punish me for that, but there
is always a reason. I want to be a film maker, to prove the world
that I can be a success, and not be doom all of my life.
I am going to prove it.

You're very welcome, Mom...it's hard sometimes, especially when so often we find ourselves faced with obstacles - whether it's deafness or it's another handicap of some type, or even if it's financial burden or just plain lousy luck. :dunno: I don't anticipate it all to be a punishment, but perhaps somewhat of a test - not in the sense that it's a game, but some of us just play our cards better than others. :) By that I mean some of us are better adjusted, etc...we adapt and we do well regardless. :)

Hang in there, my friend - it's perfectly okay to be different - if you have faith in God and can accept that he loves you for who you are, then that's all you really and truly need to understand.

I truly don't believe that God "punished" you with deafness for being bad.

Remember:

John 9
1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? 3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

am I re-born ?

meaning am I punished ?

*scoff nah*

God create you and reason want you Deaf and have educate people about God's Words. That's it.

I don't think God punished you. God loves everyone. He doesn't punish them just because they did something bad. He loves them no matter what.

However, since you're deaf... it's not a punishment cuz God probably doesn't exist.

Hmmm, you got me thinkin'...
The more time we talk about "this", the less time we have to act like it.
I just dunno.

Oh, thank you so much, Reba!!! Oh yes, I totally forgot about this verse!!!! Oh my!!! It makes perfectly sense because of Exodus 4:11 and Levitticus 19:14. But with this verse of John 9 is so powerful and so clear!! I was just like :jaw: Thanks so much for your great help!!:)

John 9

As he was walking along, he saw a man blind from birth. "Master," his disciples asked him, "why was this man born blind? Was it a result of his own sins or those of his parents?"
"Neither," Jesus answered. "But to demonstrate the power of God. All of us must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent me, for there is little time left before the night falls and all work comes to an end. But while I am still here in the world, I give it my light."
Then he spat on the ground and made mud from the spittle and smoothed the mud over the blind man's eyes, and told him, "Go and wash in the Pool of Siloam" (the word "Siloam" means "Sent"). So the man went there where he was sent and washed and came back seeing!

John 9:39-41

Then Jesus told him, "I have come into the world to give sight to those who are spiritually blind and to show those who think they see that they are blind."

let me play with this...

Then Jesus told him, "I have come into the world to give hearing to those who are spiritually deaf and to show those who think they hear that they are deaf."

okay for me....

Then Jesus told him, "I have come into the world to give beauty to those who are spiritually ugly and to show those who think they pretty that they are ugly."

Agreed!

I don't beleive God punish us because he loves us what we are.

I noticed that many christians beleive in Bible saying that God punish us which it's not. I know in my heart that God would not do that.

I think God punish non christian/non jewish/non muslim people, people who don't worship him. My dad wasn't a Christian.

Well you know......I am disabled yes....and I am proud of it. But I don't consider myself impaired. I have never known what it's like to function as a hearing person. Disabilty is like sexual oreintation or gender.....it's just a "different" way of functioning, that's not nessarily bad.

MomofTwo,

I cant remember this saying exactly but it goes something like this " If God did not think you could handle this, He would not give it to you. He sees you as a vessel to reach out to others to teach compassion and kindness."

I always tell myself that when I find myself burdened - actually I never viewed my deafness as a form of punishment because ever since I was little, I knew tthat God thought I was special enough to be different so I could be the one to reach out to all these people to teach them God 's message of kindness, loving and compassion.

I feel differently about my fibromyalgia though - I always wonder why God wanted to give me more and more burdens but I keep reminding myself that God believes enough in me to know that I can handle it with grace and dignity- thus teaching everyone else out there.

If only everyone would quit viewing deafness as a form of punishment! It can actually be a gift from above.
