Wal mart and Target are the biggest retailers in America, well know for selling things for the best price, etc...so if they've stopped selling UMDs, they done it for a reason.
Why bother watching UMD movies on your PSP when there's plenty of movies on DVDs, and you have a DVD player, and/or portable DVD player. I already have a portable DVD player and I have GBA SP and GB Micro with 6 GBA games so I dont feel the need to own a PSP when it looks like it's not doing very well now. I mean, sure, the PSP is a pretty cool handheld device, but it lacks some functions like the second thumb stick, and doesnt really play DVDs but rather UMDs instead. I understand that the PSP is outselling the DS but in Japan, they are really crazy about the DS and so are we. Nintendo products aren't just for kids, they are for everyone who just loves videogames. I still play Zelda and Yoshi's Island and other games on my GBA and GameCube like Resident Evil 4. But c'mon man...where are the other electronics that plays the UMDs? NONE and it's only the PSP itself. Sony just wanted you to buy it and eat up all your money if you wanted to watch movies, buy the UMD instead of DVDs and surely it's portable but still, I hear it has a terrible battery life and you have to charge it often...much like a cell phone. surely PSP is a cool device, but it has its limits and GBA and DS are selling like hot cakes because ppl buy them because they love videogames too. if PSP can't play DVDs then it should be meant to be a portable game console instead like the GBA and DS. so thats all I have to say about this.

If you haven't seen movies on PSP then go to EBgames and ask employee about want check movies on PSP then you would notice that film is great fit as normal screen and good picture compared to standard TV. That's fine if you don't believe and Portable DVD Player is so whack because nothing to fit in pocket because I just put PSP in pocket and go play in somewhere. Portable DVD has bad battery life too but cost is around $100-$300 compared to $200 for PSP including games, movies, internet browser and musics. If you think that PSP is lacking of games then that your personal, not all are same. Sony isn't make them to feed their money because Sony made PSP for teen and adult gamers that who is big fan of Playstation, some are X-Box fans and have no benefits or dislike to get DS. They are happy with PSP and can using for out to somewhere.

Go re-read #22 post and PSP is already outsell DS in Japan too.

I'm not complain about battery life and its 4-6 hours depends on bright screen and volume, I just got third party accessories to keep battery life so longer compared to DS. Cell phone have longer battery life than PSP and DS does like Sidekick 2, Treo, RAZR, Blackberry and most cell phone.

Ya know that people have different personal who like it or hate it but not all are same person.

Sony have decide to what doing on PSP and PS3 but not need to complain about them.

I used to like Nintendo and I still like Mario. But Doesnt like the DS and Gamecube controllers. I wish Super Mario is in Xbox 360!

I did own PSP and does not like it of lack control on thumb. I accidently screw up on controller. It is hard to handle. Finally other company made joystick to add with it. UMB is stupid. I am glad people are smart not to buy UMB why waste that they already have DVD movies. Mostly they put DVD movies and burn it and transfer to PSP. That is smart move! I did that but i had no interest into PSP. I sold it on ebay.

Games on PSP is excellent graphics and very useful.

I wish that PSP should fix that kind of controller. Yes, they are popular for younger kids. Adults like me having problem with controller because we had big hands.

Yeah I agreed.. I sold my PSP on ebay too. It hurt my hand and harder for me to control it due to it's size. Too small for my hands.

I have no problem with controller for PSP but only problem with GTA: Liberty City because Rockstars don't change their character move into from joystick into D-Pad and moving the character with D-Pad is much easier for most handheld games. I just want use joystick for left-right to change weapons and up-down to change music (radio station) when ride in vehicles.

Not all adult have big hand, just depends on their weights, growth and different body system, also my hand is medium that can fit to PSP.

It's not true. Sega Genuine have lot of mature games.

Remember MK? High percent people praise over SNES to cut violence in that game while MK sell well on Sega.
 
I'm not crazy for movies that are designed specifically for particular portable gaming consoles. I'd rather have a portable DVD player that can play any DVD than a PSP that plays only UMDs. :(
