meanwhile, people passing them on that busy street could wave at them .... knowing they can't wave back.

Or flip them the bird ! I didn't your post Reba but that funny we thought the same thing .People are talking about a making a crime if someone die b/c of protesters blocking the traffic
and an ambulance can't get through to the traffic fast enough to reach a person or bring them to ER.
