Prediction: Will you have a white Christmas??

Is it common you get snow where you live?

No! not at all! we got some last year and this but we can go years without snow even though the weather people forecast it every year hehe:giggle:

I will be in shorts and tank top and possibly going to the beach - first time in 13 years for the beach on Christmas Day. Did it every year for 30 years, have to start again.

I do remember the year in the 70's that we had an ice storm in Central Florida and it killed a massive amount of orange trees.

Have you got some snow, Lianne?? We have got snow in the north west which is shocking :) the news are showing NOTHING from Manchester though... but we are not far from the midlands

I take my post back - we're supposed to get at least a foot this weekend so it's possible we'll have a white christmas! Hope so!!!

There will not be a White Christmas here in Arkansas. It'll be in the upper 30s and cloudy and no chance of snow. If we have any type of precipitation it will be in liquid form. :)

We had quite the rainy Christmas here in Niagara. Regardless, it was a great Christmas!

christmas is over, and it was 77 degrees on december 25th.

Here, it was around 35 to 40ºF. Definitely not the usual temperature we get at this time of year. Right now, it is around 24ºF which is chilly, but at could be worse.

Yes, it's over. Though, winter isn't over yet...

"have you ever lived in florida?"....which sounds like to make it as if Florida never gets cold to the point of seeing snow and below freezing temperatures.

So, it does and can get down right cold in parts in Florida, no?

We are heading for 30's tomorrow. I will be digging the sunscreen out. Need some melting here. Parking lots are all ice and treacherous.

BTW, 30's are above average for here. Just saying.

We're not out of the woods yet. Arctic oscillation is still deep in negative territory which could mean more cold arctic air to spill again into the deep south. That is dependent on several factors here. We can expect a warming, of course, but since no one predicted 3 months ago that this sort of thing would happen then why put faith in predicting climate 20 years out as if it's a sure thing?

Whatever happened to thinking positive? And I don't mean to say, "gee, I'm positive it's gonna get cold again." How about "Gee, I'm glad that cold arctic blast is gone and we have our normal warm and mild temperatures returning."

I lived in Florida from 1966 to 1996 and now from 6/2009 to now and it's never gotten this cold before except for a few days 30 years ago.

It has gotten this cold before. Many times.
