If you don't have snow yet in your area then this is for you.

Do you think you'll have a white Christmas?

Heard on the radio this morning about a long range forecast of possible snow showers for Portland, Oregon on Christmas day. Granted, that's 9 days away. I don't put much stock into such a long range forecast, even if it's a few days away.

Your prediction is good up to Christmas eve.

Doubt it!...But we did have snow in '89, I believe!...Most Xmas's here are cool and muggy...

Nope, i would not bet on it. We've not had a snowy christmas since 02/03

there's no such thing as a white christmas here. frankly, i don't really care.

Had white christmas here last year...doubt it for this year.

It'd be nice to have white snow here on Christmas day. I remember we had no snow in the past. I just checked my weather report to say that we will have snow showers on Dec. 24th and also, we will have rain/snow showers on Christmas day. I hope they are wrong... Well, we will wait and see...

I will have white Christmas as usual since there is some snow on the ground. More snow will be coming soon.

The drifts are occasionally over my head, so even though I am not entitled to opinion here, I can say I don't think it could all melt by Christmas!

Nope! But I do predict wearing shorts and flip flops on Christmas day.

Maybe not shorts and flip flops. With both colder air moving into the southeast and higher chance of precipitation, parts of southeast might see a white Christmas (?). Not sure how cold but it says below normal temperature.

have you ever lived in florida? i'm wearing shorts right now, and i was outside wearing flip flops while i was playing with one of my roommates' dogs earlier.

That depends on where you live in Florida when a cold front does make it that far down south. It's not unheard of to have freezing weather. In fact, Jacksonville had snow a few days before Christmas in 1989 when I visited my mother there. I was driving on those icy roads that began in Valdosta, Ga and saw one car wipe out ahead of me.

A video that shows proof that it snowed in Jacksonville, Florida in Dec 1989.

Oh, I know what's Florida like, believe me.

we might actually get snow in the UK this christmas! It was snowing today and is supposed to snow all week but given the success rate of our weather forecasters, I'm not holding my breath! as long as I dont get snowed in at work, its all good :)

Is it common you get snow where you live?

I live in south so I can wear shorts during winter if temperature is beyond 50 F.
