I just googled Michael New. wow... most interesting! I agree with New's argument. I couldn't find the outcome of his case. what was it????

hhmmm.... my hope just got renewed but not yet. It sounds quite noble but I have a mixed feeling about it.
Those are not good proposals for our military; they won't like that.

Reba, may I ask a question about their helmets ? What the color of blue stands for ? What it represents ?

I was referring to funding UN and more active participation in peacekeeping missions with UN. What gave me a mixed feeling is the Michael New's argument.

Our troops donning UN uniform? :nono:
but to assist UN? :thumb:

It represents UN forces. It's the blue color in the UN flag.

.................................. are you sure you "researched about UN in the past, not yesterday or the day before or the week before. I've researched about them in years ago" as said in Post #13?

Yes, I am sure - why is it that you asked me ? I researched about UN's history and their activities, not their COLOR of helmets. Now, I know what it represents and what it stands for.

Thanks, Reba for your explanation.

The US and most countries of the world are members of the UN. The UN Secretariat and its organizations have staff members who are called international civil servants (not working for their own country's government (except for the communitst countries). Each country have a delegation call mission like the U.S. Mission to the UN in NY, Geneva and Austria. The new ambassador is Rice now.
Some countries contributed military personnel to UN peacekeeping forces. The US did have troops in the SINAI, in Lebanon and before in Somalia where it was bungled up.
