We forgive you. I would like to see you stay on AD forum. Me, too I have to reduce my postwhoring addiction. Alex and other mods are very happy.

Wow, GL74! :D It takes big guts to admit something like that, and I'm proud to know you at AD. Thanks to Kuifje75, Vampy, Stevey Boy, Alex, and all the others for being involved in maintaining the integrity of this place. ;) *hands waving*

I'm amazed at the post reset gesture almost everyone has been making, too! Whoo hooo!! What a statement!

*whew* after all my weekend...I realized that I'm addicted to this site because there's so much things happening that I have thought of and missed. I used to be up at 12 am and stay up until about afternoon then go out and do whatever I needed.

When I used the "View New posts" there were 9 pages. I have started from the old posts until this thread.

I do understand what it's like when I refresh the "View New posts" and notice that there's more posts...sometimes I right click on a link then pick "Open in new window" and scroll down and notice someone made a pointless post so I close the window. It takes me about an hour to two hours to catch up on just one page of New threads depending on how busy I was at that time. That's how important the Time was here. Some of you all other ADers might consider your time more important than I would. It's understandable how important it is to prevent "Post whoring" to waste the rest of our times.

The point of this forum is just to bring together users to discuss along different subjects. It defeats the purpose of this Forum if someone just posted something like a single emotion.

I think that a chatroom would change the way the post whorings are done. I wouldn't mind to host a chatroom and post the channel logs of the entire day/night for everyone, who has missed an event, to read.

I used to run forums (namely rackshack's own forum and WHT), had big website projects, still run an IRC network (after several changes over the years), and also recently got married. Kids would come around soon which would take up more of my time.

All of those issues are all related to time and bandwidth. Time costs you few seconds or minutes. Bandwidth costs you money and it takes more time for you to get the money to pay for the bandwidth.

I think that Alex should just hide this "Posts" in the profiles. It's possible in this forum's version after few php hackings. It's impossible to just remove it because some of the scripts depend on our number of postings to properly work. :D

Dayum I am wayyyyyyyy behind w/ those threads and noticed my # of posts went down too and was puzzled whats going on lol. I just got back home from my little vacation.. whew gonna to catch up :D. I'll read n finds what happening since I was gone.

Whoopsie-daisie! I revived this thread!! I know most new members haven't seen this thread, so please make your vote! ;)

I think postwhoring has its place here and there, and yet not allowed on certain threads...

I think if u were to have something like Have you noticed or Three Little Words, then postwhoring would be fine...

but for some other threads such as this one or whenever someone is asking for advice or venting, then it shouldnt be allowed.

It has to be 50-50 and carefully monitored and used in the best judgement. I would say for some of the older threads that have not been revived in a long time, then delete them to create more room for new threads. I have noticed some going back to 2003 and they havent come up since then...I say delete them!

I know Im a postwhorer and I don't care - in those two threads its fun, but when talking with Angel about her ex hubby, then Im careful and try to give advice in the best way I know how...there are times when its ok and when its NOT ok.

You need to use ur judgement, thats all I say.

Smiles!

Geez! No one never talk me in sexual way in conversation thru AIM, the only one who just talk about naughty things was Cheri in couple days ago. I had to laugh about the jumbo pads and the naughty things. Remember Cheri!
It was funny..

:giggle:

mind telling me what does postwhoring mean?
Postwhoring is constantly making useless posts or repeating others when it isn't necessary. Some examples of postwhoring is replying to serious posts with smilies/emoticions or one-worders. If someone created a thread or a post regarding a problem at home and was asking for suggestions on how he/she could work it out, then someone replies with :) or "Hi", then that would be postwhoring. It may seem like one post, but if it's abused repeatedly... then it would get out of hand. Usually, it's accepted in the jokes category since there isn't much to say when replying to someone's joke... but if you made an unnecessary post like :gives:, then that would be disrespectful and possibly considered as postwhoring. The other thing is quoting. This used to be abused in the past until Alex fixed it. Before, people would quote another post. Someone else would quote that quoted post. It was possible to quote a quoted quoted quoted quoted (times 10) replied post. That is called scrolling. Here's an example:

Notice how those replies are pointless and getting nowhere? That's usually considered postwhoring. Now, it isn't done any more due to Alex fixing it. Another would be repeating yourself in the same thread. It's like saying, "I think it's stupid." multiple times in the same thread when you've already made your point once by saying it once. There are many other ways of postwhoring. If you feel that someone is postwhoring unnecessarily, please contact Alex, me, or any other moderator and we'll look into it. Thanks. :thumb:

I think postwhoring is ok in fun threads such as ' I noticed ' or ' Three little words ' etc. because they're fun to play along and don't mean any harm...but I have to agree with DD on her post, about other threads shouldn't be postwhoring, I have to be careful when I do that in other threads.....

I am quilty of postwhoring and I do not care either LOL... :ily:

and the short sentences isn't showing quality posting, its like trying to pull a tooth out of someone who needs an opioion of another, i rather the long posting as opposed to short posting like the icons... its useless without reasoning the comments.

Cookie Monster,

Yeah, I've remmy long years back and issued Alex who paid lot of money stoopid postwhoring posting really waste and all garages too. So Prefer be wise and reasonable post it.
