Post your Test

Great post everyone :)

CI Aided Audiogram - left ear:

250 hz - 25 dB
500 hz - 25 dB
1000 hz - 25 dB
2000 hz - 25 dB
3000 hz - 20 dB
4000 hz - 35 dB

Average dB: 24 dB

SAT: 15 dB

My CI audiologist does not test for any higher frequencies over 4000 hz, I don't know why, I will have to ask her why. Maybe I can get her to test me at the higher frequencies just to see if I can hear anything at the higher frequencies, just for the hell of it.

As far as unaided hearing losses in both ears they are pretty much NR across all frequencies so I have a 120+ dB loss in both ears and I do not have a CI in the right ear, just only the left ear as Medicaid and Medicare would only cover one implant and I chose to have my left ear be implanted. I have not worn a HA in both ears since I was 10 as they were no longer of any use anymore at that point.

As far as my unaided scores are concerned, I tested at 90 dB in the low frequencies with NR at 1000 Hz and above in my right ear and 95 dB in the low frequencies with NR at 1000 Hz and above for my left ear.

My aided scores were 60-70 dB in the low frequencies with NR at 1000 Hz and above.

Now that I have CIs, I am 100% deaf.

Heres my results pre implant back in 1998. I got my Left Ear Implanted.

Results Both Ears Unaided

Left Ear(Now CI ear)

500Hz- 110 DB
1000Hz- 110Db
2000Hz- 115db
4000hz- No Response

Right Ear(HA Ear)

500hz- 90 db
1000Hz- 110db
2000Hz- 115db
4000Hz- 120db

Pepsi,

I can't read your original post. Could you convert it into text for those of us who are deafblind? :ty:

This person has an unusual reverse cookie bite audiogram. His hearing loss is moderate and he can understand speech(Speech Reception Threshold) at 50db in the left ear and 70db in the right. I wish I had his unaided hearing, as well as many other's. Welcome back by the way! :D

:ty: deafdude! :D

I used to have similar hearing loss although mine was considered a ski slope audiogram. My audiogram began at 50 dB at 250 Hz, dropped to moderate loss in the middle frequencies and profound loss at the high frequencies. (Sorry, I can't remember the details. This was back in 1985 and the only thing I remember my audi telling me is that she gave me the strongest hearing aids on the market and if they did not allow me to understand speech, there would be no other current technology to help me.)

Hear Again I will put mine in text when I have the time

deafdude,I'm a woman

Thank you CBE, I just log in a few minutes ago. I have not been on AD that much yesterday to get back to this thread :ty:

Hello! I am back from the appointment. It went okay. They only tested my unaided hearing. They will be testing my HA hearing and they will be giving me more hearing test at my transition appointment on July 1st. They discovered my HA wasnt meeting its targets, they noticed a drop, they gave me a new HA as they think it was faulty even though i was given a new HA about a month or so ago. Anyway if there's still a problem, they'll do something about it on July 1st. They provided me with a huge box of batteries because they know the hospital only gives you 2 packs of batteries

my unaided audiogram is

250hz- 90db
500Hz- Looks like a 90db
1000hz-100db
2000hz-110db
4000hz-NR

I'm so confused here, because today's results are so much better than 2003's at some frequencies? Anybody any idea why??

2003 results were

75db- 250Hz
95db-500Hz
115db-1000hz
115-db-2000hz
No Response at 120db-4000hz
No Response at 100db-8000hz

Ask your audiologist, she should be able to answer your question.

Im just confused why the results are so different, maybe my HL fluctuates. Iv got a another app on July 1st, new audi :S
