Popping the Question

We are both Volunteer Firefighters and I been thinking since Valentine's day falls on our training night about talking to our chief next week about finding a way to pop the question on Valentines at the station.

Privately?

That seems like a huge surprise for someone who doesn't like surprises. And in public?

Might end like the guy who did that on tv and a basketball game a few years ago, and you could see the woman look horrified and run out of the auditorium. :cool2:

I saw a very similar thing happen at a minor league baseball game we attended on the Fourth of July. The shocked girl ran from the field with her face in her hands. There was a loud gasp by all those in attendance, and an awkward silence from the stadium announcer. It was a real bummer for an otherwise cheerful occasion.

Maybe the flirty eyes of that pillow on the porch is the best bet....

Well knowing she doesn't like surprises last night I had a convo with her and it went like this

ME: So I have a wonderful girlfriend who hates surprises so how should I ask her to marry me.
HER: Baby you already know the answer all we need is the ring.

Then she take it as "YES!!" Go ahead and get the ring, together!

It doesn't matter if shoddy or not. You know when I was planning to buy engagement ring, I had a hard time finding the right one because she was picky about it and she had specific setting that she like. You know I got to have something for proposal purpose. So, I got a bright idea. I went home, and went striaght to my garage. She have no idea what I was doing. I keep running in and out of the garage (first need to find her old ring to measure it, then find the wine bottle cap that have tapered shape and so on). Once I finally finish. Then I went straight to her and propose her. I gave her this see pix below.

(I even put insurance on that because of many "copper" theft going on!! )

I don't want an engagement ring, not even a diamond. I just want plain and simple matching bands.

Yeah, after I propose her, then we went straight to jewlery store. So we got what we want. The wedding band for me, engagement ring and her wedding ring.

I don't have an engagement ring. We were engaged a very short time before the wedding, so we just got matching bands.

That's a neat idea but you might want to grind and buff the ends a bit; they look kind of rough. Also, won't copper turn green?

Smile... She love it and she was very surprised. So, it's only a temporary ring and now it been hanging on the wall. This type of copper doesn't turn green.
You know, I got to give her something when propose her, it just spur of a moment.
