Do you like popcorn? yes, right?

How do you like to cook your popcorn? I do not know how to ask the right question for popcorn methods

for example

1) jiffy pop
or
2) hit air popcorn maker ( just put corn kernels in it)
or
3) old fashioned popcorn pan (any form of using equipment for popper only)
or
4) regular pan with oil and corn kernels.

Please post it here what kind of equipment for popcorns. I love to hear from all of you!

Why am I making the thread. its pouring rain out there. I felt bad for kids that they are at the day camp ( spending time outside in the park like nature more than under the roof. :( )

SO i figure out that kids would not be in a mood for going out tonight after long week at the day camp. They might watch a rented movies and eat popcorns tonight.

I'm lazy and use Redenbacher's Kettle Corn microwave popcorn too.

But if I had kitchen space to store more gadgets, probably air-popped popcorn is really the best. I don't want to devote storage space to that large an item, though.

I cheat and use microwaveable popcorn! :)

I totally forget about that one. I am not a fan of the micorwable popcorn. I have some at home and i keep ignoring them. My hub bought it.

I like the hot air popcorn maker the best. My hub loves the jiffy pop so i have it at home as well. LOL

I know the feeling!! I keep cleaning over and over after I finished the air popcorn maker.

I have one at home and no room for my kitchen. I keep putting it under the cabinet. I take it out and put it back forth and back. sometimes i dont have patience for it then steal my hubby's jiffy pop.

My neighbor has one like the picture you showed. She brings it out when we have our block parties (which we do quite a bit) and will pop up a storm! It is great for a large crowd and much more economical than microwave popcorn.

 my hubby is the one who loves to collect comic stuff. mostly cookie jars and bobbleheads, statues, and silly equipment like this air popcorn maker. I only asked for a plain one. But thats OK.

I had used old hot air popcorn maker with top plate for hot butter long time. It s very good to eat but change to microwave popcorn.

We used to have an air popper when the kids were home. It's a lot healthier. Now that they are gone, we don't eat much popcorn and I just have a box of microwave kind in the cupboard in case we want some.

I have a big and deep cast-iron frying pan called a "chicken fryer" which used to have a curved glass lid. There was a lot of space in there because of the curved lid and it was perfect for popcorn, with lots of expansion space.

Unfortunately a few years ago, my husband accidentally dropped the lid and it broke. I still have the pan itself which I use with a flat one-size-fits-all type of metal lid. It's fine for stewing chicken and making spaghetti sauce and that sort of thing, but terrible for popcorn now.

Too bad about that, because I like having multi-purpose kitchen things, and I just never wanted to buy some other bulky thing for making popcorn.

Love the cast iron, though. The pan itself is probably about 40 years old. Cast iron just never dies.

I don't often pop popcorn cuz I tend to use scary amounts of butter.

I made popcorn in many ways. microwave version (shhhh I know I know), hot air popper best healthy flavori, skillet method (not good due to oil), kettle version- taste best! and over the fire with oil. I like over the fire when camping. I cheat and use microwave when lazy (gotta use up the boy scout stock :roll:0) and hot air pop when its family night.:D

popcorn kettle is the best. I agree. of course with oil.. so thats why i picked the hot air popcorn maker, but with tons tons tons of butters. :o

Hot air popcorn maker is best. No oil. Add butter and salt if you want.

Love air popcorn! YUMMY! I can pour amount of butter and salt....we have microwave one for now...no room for air popcorn :( I need to weed down the stuff and maybe there is a space for it...:)

We all love popcorn! YUM!

do you they still made jiffy pop corn ? We use made it over over the stove all the time. I did have a pop corn marker but it burned out and really was pain to use as the corn kept getting stuck while popping. I use the microwave and buy popcorn lightly butter. I use to liked red cayenne pepper and grated cheese on mine but I can't eat cayenne pepper like I use to.

We had a hot air corn popper, but actually burned out 3 of them. I normally do not like popcorn, but if we make it in the wok, I do like it.

Mother puts 2 tablespoons of oil in the wok to get hot, then 1/2 cup of popcorn. Then shakes and cooks till done. It will make close to 3-4 cups of popcorn. We have also added salt, sugar and other things in the wok for kettle style corn, but prefer the plain. We put Parmesan cheese and cayenne pepper on it.
