Poonado! Divers Accidentally Caught in Sperm Whale’s 98-Foot Bowel Movement

I don't care about your title; check your post #11.......

Wow! Whale poop might get added to the list of controversial banned topics, right up there with abortion, religion, war, and politics.

That could be fun.

A tiny reliving of the old exciting days!

In WDYS's defense (did I really say that )

From the article:

Despite the centuries-old passion for ambergris, nobody's really certain how the sperm whale produces it, or how the whale excretes the lump.

Most experts agree that whales create ambergris inside their intestines as a kind of fatty coating around sharp, hard-to-digest items, like the beaks of giant squid (a favorite food of the whale), the BBC reports. And squid beaks have been found inside pieces of ambergris.

But while some reports call ambergris "whale vomit," others insist it's not puke. "It's poop," molecular biologist Christopher Kemp told ABC News.

Well, that would be new to me then. I'd always thought, even tho it was from the digestive tract, I'd always thought it came from vomiting. New I am not so sure......

This came from Wiki (yes, I know, it's Wiki. ) but from what I'm reading from there and other sites, it is often from vomiting, so you are right. (It can also come out the other end too.)

Ambergris occurs as a biliary secretion of the intestines of the sperm whale and can be found floating upon the sea, or lying on the coast. It is also sometimes found in the abdomens of whales. Because the beaks of giant squids have been found embedded within lumps of ambergris, scientists have theorised that the substance is produced by the whale's gastrointestinal tract to ease the passage of hard, sharp objects that the whale might have eaten. The sperm whale usually vomits these but if one travels further down the gut, it will be covered in ambergris
